Hi... Im new....and I have a question.

Post by boyaka2000 »

Hi people

Im totally new to this, but it sounds awesome and Im defo going to be entering as much as possible.

I have a question though about musical style.

The music i make is made by myself on a sampler/sequencer, some synth, some hand percussion and other crap, and the smallest amount of vocal.

Will this style of music be popular on here?? I know from experience that people from the states LOVE their guitars, be it rock, folk, country, idie, punk...or whatever.... byt my style of music is most definitley along the 70's experiemental synth vein.

Any honest answers to this would be appreciated!!

Welcome to Song Fight! If you're making music to be popular then you're doing it wrong. However... seeing you asked a question... I'll give you an answer: Many people on the Boards like guitars, yes... Many people on the Boards dislike instrumentals, yes... but who cares? Just make good music, don't suck, and please be AWESOME! You'll be just fine. :)

Edit: P.S. Guitars don't impress me. Welcome to the synth club! ;)

Please allow me to echo the "Welcome", the "don't suck", and the "doing it wrong" ...
If the fear of not being popular would deter you from making music, then you probably shouldn't bother in the first place.
In my opinion (take it for whatever it's worth), if even just one person really enjoys and appreciates your song, then you've done your job correctly. Even if that person is you.

Welcome! One of these days I'm gonna try writing and recording something specifically intended to be unpopular. It takes all kinds.

A personal favorite! It's obviously horribly, annoyingly unconventional, but I swear to god I listen to it straight through every time.

Instrumentals are tough here because of the title connection. But all styles are good as long as you write good songs.
