I assume the deadline is because Spud won't be able to update until then anyway.

Yeah, I know. Same reason that After Hours was so short. I was just commenting. Gotta maintain my Verbal Diarrhea Orangish Brown status somehow.

well... an idea is forming. but if i cant spend more than a few hours on it im gonna have to sit this one out. i can't compete with you all, or put you nice folks through the abuse that ensues with a quickly recorded song. but at least this idea has more than two chords!

had a nice, full, two days off to myself, and put some serious work in. it was hard this time to get a super nice vocal track (too many cigarettes halloween night), so it may be a tad effect heavy. but this is at least one i can be proud of, even if no one else likes it. ill post the lyrics just in case anyone has problems understanding them... i am a mumbler.

Every time I open the front SF page and see KA's cover art for last weeks fight, it subliminally makes me read this weeks fight title as Furniture on the Road. So last night I had a dream that I was writing a song about furniture and flipping through an Ikia catalog for inspiration and ideas. Weird, huh?

I tried to come up with a glam rock song about touring the country in a bus and sex and drugs and shit like that, but I just don't have the kind of rock and roll lifestyle needed to pull it off.

So I recorded a blues song. Because we all know how much songfight loves the blues.

had another day off, and had been messing with a second "future on the road" idea in my head... actually got the time to record that one too, and it actually sounds quite a bit better than the first one. i couldn't find the rules for multiple song entries. but since both are brand new, i submitted the second under the name " the jack mehoff solo project". if that is a faux pas, then i apologize.

That would be the faq you were looking for: http://www.songfight.org/faq.html

Can I enter?
Yes! Look over on the right side of the Song Fight page, under "Next Week's Fights" to see next week's title(s) and the deadline for entering a song. To maximize Song Fight's resources for everyone who wants to participate, please limit your entries to one song per week.

This rule has been intentionally broken a few times with no harm. Just don't abuse us.

I'm a dip, I totally read that whole thing and didn't see it. Well if it is possible, I wouldn't mind the bad boys at bat mitzvahs song not being in, and only going with the Jack mehoff one. If that's not an option, please accept my humble apology. I seem to be learning every rule the wrong way. I appreciate yalls patience with me.

P.s. FAQ has been added to the bookmarks.

I've been starting fight songs for ... well, maybe three months now and not finishing them. This one seems to have the best chance of making it. If I can't come up with a second verse and a bridge by tomorrow night, then it's not happening. What do I need a second verse and a bridge for if it's already up to 4 minutes? I don't know. I think I subconsciously like the "too long" criticism. In a Freudian way.

I just learned some new mastering tricks from a real studio, so it'll probably be nice and loud.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.
