SF Live 2011: New York City (June 11-12)

Chaps, any indication of where/when this is going to be yet?
Just so I can book a flight whilst it remains somewhere in the realm of affordability.

In August a bunch of us were trying to convince Roymond to host it in NYC but I don't think anything's been discussed since then. Given that we've done two in a row on the left coast, it's time for the right coast to have a turn (or maybe someone in the middle can do it again, since that's only happened once so far, in 2004/Austin). Hell, I wouldn't mind going to Austin again.

I wouldn't mind hosting in Austin, if that's the consensus and/or if no one else wants to host. However, at San Francisco, it seemed that the majority opinion was that it should be somewhere in New York/New England if possible. Roymond? Niveous? Krieger?

What does everyone else think?

Well, it's always in the summer. Heck, the one time it was in Texas, it was held in August!

My two cents: do it during the summer, as usual. The heat won't deter as many people as holding it during the school year would.

My wife's got some family in NYC, so this should be a little bit easier than usual to swing. Plan on us both being there.

After failing to make it to San Francisco, after saying I'd do the best I could to get there (I really couldn't though!) I dare not make promises. BUT! This should be easier to pull off, and I'm not in the hole, financially, anymore. At least not yet!

I'm excited for this, but Mid to late August is bad for me. I can only imagine it would be bad for many people who work in Education.

Also, if it matters to anyone here, Burning Man is the last weekend of August as well.

True. It's tough. We don't really have July as an option because Ben, who is organizing this with Sidewalk, is expecting his second child in July.
