Would it be anything else?
Well, actually, it may become Hoglen & Wages on most tracks.

Two down, twelve to go.
Uploaded an mp3 demo of the song I finished tonight, and I finally got around to uploading the mp3 of last night's song too.

I am so disapponted.
I started recording a song last night, and thought it may be fun to do it under a new name - maybe go for a new sort of sound. A name that came to my head a few days ago that I thought sounded cool was :
"The Periodic Table of the Elephants"
anyway - a quick google showed that I was far from the first person to think of it. Bugger.

I'm in full on writing mode now. I found I did this two years ago. Stewed, then exploded with recordings. For me, however, FAWM is like Songfight!. It's not enough, for me at least, to just write the songs. I have to record them and master them as well. It's part of the chaos. A song written, recorded, mastered and uploaded in a matter of average of every 2 days is no small feat. The only FAWM I completed I recorded and wrote the bulk in 5 crammed days at the end of February. I hope it doesn't go that way this year. That was hell on my wife and family, not to mention the virtual jet-lag of recording every single night til 6 am. Big carafe of coffee who completes it on the recorded front. Whatever that means.

I didn't record a new one last night, but the wife is heading out of town for the weekend, so I think I can nail down at least a good half-dozen more before I have to go to work on Monday.
By the way, the heat's out in my apartment. Criminey.

that looks like one of those charity decorating contests they do these days. a city has some sort of icon, they make a bunch of them, area artists paint them or whatever, they get placed around the city for a while then auctioned off for charity.Caravan Ray wrote: "The Periodic Table of the Elephants"
it's a cool name. i'm sure you could use it anyway, these are certainly unrelated areas.

Re: February Album Writing Month 2010
8pm last night, I started an AAD (of course, this will also contribute to my FAWM count). They're going to be eight piano demos recorded between 8 and 8, so I'm calling it Eight 88s. As of 4am, I had six songs, then crashed for six hours. I've got ten hours to do the last two.
This puts me at 9 out of 14 and counting.
Relistening to last night's work right now; some of them are still holding up on repeated listens after a night's sleep. http://fawm.org/fawmers/joneric/

OK.
I am about 70% through a song.
I may not finish it in time for the "Boron Rod" fight, and at the moment, it is sounding a bit crap. But it is looking like I will get at least 1 song up for FAWM!

Re: February Album Writing Month 2010
Jon already clearly stated that he's not doing his Gift of Music song because he's "not enthusiastic about the source material, and it's weighing [him] down". Don't expect him to suddenly stop FAWMing and pull a cover together. He's mentally moved on to other things. So, I say that we should move on and get someone else to do a cover from the Boffo Yux Dudes' list.fluffy wrote:You truly have a gift in that you can complete 12 pieces of music in such a short period of time.Generic wrote:Demo number 12 is up!
