The correct response: Who is Ken?
Incidentally, is it because Ken got a question ABOUT HIMSELF wrong that you didn't wait for other responses? :)
Nope. It had been over an hour.

As for Controversial for 800. Goatse is correct!

You realize that it's still fairly early in the time zone that many of us are playing from, right? (You posted the question at 6:50 AM Ken/Albatross/fluffy time)

anyway if you're waiting for me to pick a category I don't think there's many options left

I had seen some people on the boards, figured I had waited enough. But really I should've waited more. Next time, I'll make a specific Jeopardy playing time. Oh well, on to the final clue in Double Jeopardy.

Controversial for 1000:

This band, with a name crossing literature and science, didn't send in an original song for their entry. They just took a danish pop song and played it backwards.

I have no idea; the closest I can think of is Jim Varney All Stars who was Sparks screwing around with Take On Me (but he didn't use it backwards). So instead of answering that question I'd like to mention that probably the most controversial song ever (based on forum response, anyway) was Amsmspsptk's "Experimental Fashion" which generated 5+ pages of ranting about how it isn't music and has no place here. Personally I liked it a lot, but the artist in question got attacked so quickly that he didn't feel like actually answering any of my legitimate questions about how he made it, and disappeared forever.

Final Jeopardy:

SIDEFIGHTS-

Here is your clue:
In 2007, this sidefight was supposed to be an alternative to the Songfight gap. Despite frontpage coverage, the fight only got two participants.

Good luck players. PM your questions to me.

There was the "Longfight", which I think only had 2 entries. It was a month instead of a week. But I don't think it was in 2007. Did I mention that I won it?

I had no idea and so I sent a completely wrong answer to Niveous. Then I researched and found the right answer, and I'm hitting my head for not thinking of that.

Time to see how everyone did.

The correct response- what is Limbofight/ Tuesdayfight. Created by Lord of Oats, he attempted to make a fight that would work during the Songfight gap and even got Limbofight placed on the front page but only he and Spinlock ever participated. I'm accepting Tuesdayfight because it is the renamed Limbofight that came the next week and still failed miserably with only LoO and Spinlock again.

Billy's Little Trip, you came in at -700. What was your response?
What is Tuesday Fight #2: Incubation
Your wager- 2000. That leaves you with 1300

Heuristics Inc, you came in at 2500. What was your response?
What is Limbo Fight #1
Your wager- 2334. That leaves you with 4834

Ken, you came in at 2800. What was your response?
What is 55 Minute Frenzies
Sorry, quite a few people did the frenzies.
Your wager- 2000. That leaves you with 800

Fluffy, you came in at 4100. What was your response?
What is Song Skirmish
Another somewhat successful sidefight of the time. Sorry.
Your wager- 2500. That leaves you with 1600

Heuristics Inc, you are our first ever Songfight Jeopardy champion. Congratulations.

This is Niveous, signing off for Songfight Jeopardy. I hope you all had fun. It was tough putting it all together but it's been a fun week. We'll have to do it again sometime.

Yes, that was pretty entertaining. I should have wagered $0 after all but I was getting all strategic with Albatross.
