There is nothing wrong with coming up with an entirely new, live-friendly arrangement.

Actually that's better than doing it how it was before because it gives the listeners something special.

But on the Jimmy Fallon show you can get paid $10 to lick something, like sandpaper, or staplers. Or he'll give you a dollar for every word you can say that starts with a specific letter. I don't see Jon Stewart handing out cold hard cash to his audience. And that guy doesn't even have his own Ben & Jerry's flavor. Lame! :P

We should see how many late-night TV show tapings we can get to in one night. Daily Show, Colbert Report, Jimmy Kimmel, and maybe even Letterman, although I haven't cared for Letterman for like 10 years. Are there any others there? Where is Conan taped nowadays?

Too bad Craig Ferguson is in LA. He's my favorite by far.

I think they all do. None of the late-night shows are actually filmed at night. Even Saturday Night "Live" is done at like 4 PM.

Jimmy Fallon and Letterman tape in the afternoon as well, but SNL is actually live, with an occasional tape delay due to football games or an occasionally raunchy host.

Hey everyone, I need some input.

I have been looking for a place to do the Saturday show. The dilemma has been finding a place that will take us on for the whole night. The NYC is very accomodating of all sorts of acts. It's just that it's also very busy. So, I have looked into renting a performance space for the night.

One place that I just finished checking out would give us the space for the night for $64 an hour. That price covers an 18x44 space for performing and a green room where we can set up refreshments and bands can set up. Is that a decent size for what we need? About how many hours do you think we would need? Anyone willing to chip in?

Why do I always get Kimmel and Fallon confused?

Sure, I can chip in on a space. $64/hour isn't bad compared to what space rental would have been in San Francisco. Does that include PA or do we need to provide one?

We would have to supply. What would get from the place is folding chairs, folding tables, blocks, standing lamps, music stands and a piano.

I'd be happy to pitch in what I can... And is there a bar? Cause if not, then I would suspect a few less hours would be needed, but then again, where's the fun in that?

I'd chip in.

Is this location any good? I mean, if we put posters out front, would we get any foot traffic? One of my favorite parts of SF Live events is seeing the looks on strangers' faces when we explain exactly what it is that we are doing and why we are doing it. Doubly so if they stick around and check it out.

Is there a bar- No. We would have to supply our own liquor. The Sunday show at Sidewalk has a bar.
Is the location good for random foot traffic- Nope. Again, Sunday show. Sunday show should be full of random onlookers.

Thanks for all the offers to chip in. I will reserve the space (@ Spaceonwhite) today. So, how many hours do you think we will need the space for? (Sunday show will be from 7pm-12am)

surely, I was just curious, people tend to stick around longer when there are drinks available.

We'll probably want at least as many hours for Saturday as for Sunday, especially since we'll have to completely set up and tear down a PA and all the gear.
