I have done some natural language processing work so I know how difficult it is, but still... it is not on the same footing as a human player. Wagering, that's a different thing, yeah!

I didn't hear the text thing. That does seem a little unfair, I think it should rely on vocal cues, and recondition off the board like a person, not getting text shot into it's brain. Half the time it takes a human to press the button is listening, reading, and processing what Alex says. If it is getting the question as text, the computer is not doing the same thing as a human.

Looks like Watson and I are the winners! Yea for us!

Ken was a very good loser and funny at the end, but the numbers are the numbers.

Here's a few links with songs of mine, pick whatever you like. If you want help with words or chords, or you want an mp3 of something that streams, just lemme know:

Sorry, John, I had a bad couple of weeks after this happened. I'm settling in to make amends right now, though, so hang tight another couple of days.

This is terrible. I'm suffering alternating bouts of perfectionism and lack of motivation. I'll check on the song every few days, and it's not good enough, but I can't be bothered to fix it. It's a strange sensation.

Anyway, this isn't done yet, but here's a proof-of-concept, at least. To let you know I'm not welching on this bet.

OMGASP! It is perfect! My family and I love it! What a hysterical and inspired choice in Green Eleven, rescuing it from the bowels of a Horse With No Name ripoff. I want to post it on MY website, how do I get a download?

This was WELL worth the wait, please do NOT work on it any more, you'll ruin it.

Well, at least let me put a decent ID3 tag on it. ...or not, if you're impatient.

You can download it by right-clicking on it and choosing "Save Link As..." (If you're on a Mac, then ctrl+click will do it). I'll post a formal news update on my site later today.

I'm glad you like it! I still think the vocals and accordion are both wonky as all get-out, so it'll be difficult to resist the temptation to re-record and overmix this. But I'll try. For you, John. Just for you.

I'm just so happy with my prize, and thanks for the Mac lesson too! After three years I still don't know how to use this stupid thing!

I listened to this mainly because John's "Green Eleven" is one of the few Song Fight songs I actually remember by name. I like your version, Jon, and I have to say it's much better than I expected after all you said there.
