I would have been better off if I had never actually known a Ginger and if I didn't have a story I could tell about me and Ginger. I've written about 6 versions and finally just in time have one I'm happy with.

It's not about when Ginger and I were abducted by aliens, not because that's not autobiographical but because no one would believe it.

Well, this song ain't gettin any prettier and I'm sick of it. Time to submit. Just did the car check - possibly my best mastering job ever. Had the song mostly done on Thursday - spent Friday and Saturday redoing vocals. They should be pretty sweet with my new uber-awesome microphone recommended to me by Ken. Have I spent too much time on this? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. Get ready for pure ecstasy in waveform.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

From the lyric archive I am already enjoying your use of the title. Well done - that is what I like to see.

My song might or might not get in tonight. Still have to come up with lyrics and record vocals.

Just FYI - the title this week came from the name of a porn movie (apparently the 45th best porn movie EVER according to this list: http://www.gamelink.com/naked_truth.jht ... ecommended).

But the curious thing is that in my research for this subject, I discovered that the very talented young actress who stars in the film also appeared in a 2004 gentleman's relaxation film called "Love and Bullets" - which if I am not mistaken was a title from Nur Ein IV! Small world. Blame it on Ginger.

Ha! The title source(s) are great!

So last night I threw away the songI had been working on, wrote very cheap, beer fueled and bleary lyrics, and recorded the whole song today. It may not be good, but it's miles better than the poo I was going with. No excuses, and not fishing for sympathy, just my story. In. NUR EIN!!!!!!

I will be in momentarily. It looks like not everyone might have really written autobiographically, so maybe I'll get points for meeting the challenge head-on. Would have been fun to write about the alien abduction.

It was "Bullets and Lovers" actually, but the similarity is enough to make you wonder. Small world indeed.

Oh - OK. I didn't actually use the words of the title in my song on that occasion. I just knew it was something like that.

Hey everyone,

There's this big distracting event happening, so I probably won't penalize a little lateness today.

I just sent mine in. I had everything recorded except the lyrics. Then things took longer than they should have today and I didn't start recording vox until 3:00pm. So I had to pretty much just do the lead and backups vocals straight through. Some pitchy spots where I got a little ambitious, but not bad.

....oh, and I wore my big girl blouse for this one. Heavy metal wants to punch this song in the vagina.

This round has been interesting to say the least. We literally had 5 songs partially written, and had the main computer die before we could mix the final version.

So, out of the ashes, we wrote a scathing song about the damn computer that screwed us over, and the ideas that were in the original versions of the songs... a little meta, but you can't get much more autobiographical than that.
