No, it just started yesterday, and my intention was to leave signup open for two weeks. You're totally in.

Hey, I appreciate the thought, but I'm concerned about the low ratio of participation to commitment over there. Of the 60 people who signed up for Spintunes #3, only 37 even got as far as turning in Round 1 entries (for comparison, out of the 11 entrants who have ever completed a Songfight or Nur Ein entry, there were only 2 deadline eliminations).

There's a reason for the high drop rate in SpinTunes compared to Nur Ein. Nur Ein is something done within this community without much promotion. With SpinTunes I actively look to bring in new people that have never done songwriting contests before. Those are mostly the ones that miss the deadline in round 1. It's kind of a pain to have that many drop out earily, but you do get a few noobs that end up staying with the contest in the long run. In my mind that makes up for it.

With this project it's totally understandable that you want only people you can rely on though. If you don't want me mentioning it before hand, I won't. I'll still mention it after it's over, cause I'm looking forward to hear the results.

Yeah, you've nailed the reasons for the difference.

Promoting after the songs come out is perfectly fine by me. :)

If you try to post a message which contains less than 10 characters, phpBB barks at you (go on, try it). I kept my reply intentionally short to snarkily demonstrate that there is, in fact, a workaround. :)

I still have no idea how much of that time I'll actually be able to use, but count me in anyway. I'll make it work somehow.

Just a quick rules clarification...

If two or more people submit the same title, both instances of the title will be discarded and the contestants will be asked to submit different titles. This has just happened. I apologize to both Jan Krueger and Noah McLaughlin. Great minds think alike, apparently. :)

As soon as the titles have been assigned, I'll post the reused one, so that any late stragglers will have something to play with.
