Bobobo-bo Bobo-bo- This is a good example of sonic quality not mattering as much as writing. Or perhaps ambition. Far from being a catchy 'lil number, this is bold and adventurous. Yeah, maybe you could nip a bit here and there and squeeze it into a tighter package, but the energy level is high and makes up for a lot.

Thank you sir. When you have as little actual talent, and technical know-how as I do, you have to make up for it with raw energy. Sometimes it works.

Kapitano - Something out of Blade Runner, I think. I'm nt as impatient during intros as others here, although I've succumbed to submiting shorter ones in response to reviews. Anyway, I like the atmospheric robot groove. It doesn't make me want to dance, but that takes a LOT to do that. Good music to have on while ironing or having a small get-together.

I gave an actual LOL when I read that. I am background music for ironing and dinner parties! You know you've arrived when the middle class assimilate you.

The thing about dance music is...it almost never gets danced to, and most of it only sounds like it's for dancing anyway. DJ Shadow? Belinda Carlisle? For that matter, The Rolling Stones and all the 60s beat combos that inspired Yardley Social Scene this week.

As for intros, I have an ambiguous attitude towards them - they're the bit which you sit through before the song starts properly, but they're also often better than the song itself. There's a lot of mediocre songs with great intros which sound nothing like them - think Whitney Houston's "I have nothing" and Babylon Zoo's "Spaceman".

Thanks for all the reviews and the summer fun everybody! Unfortunatly between preparing for a senior recital and my classes I'm signing off for a while.

This week I tried to emulate the style of my favorite electronic arranger from the band MSI. That being said, I like this comment.

HIR: On the one hand, this sounds like a sketchpad of ideas, thrown together quickly to be worked on later. On the other hand, the frantic switching between effects, cut up samples and blurts of various synths show this is the *result* of working on the track for a while.

The over all theme and the reason why there's a lot of cornyish phrases in the lyrics is a stab at how monotonous the use form, tone and phrases is in music. Isn't anyone else sick of hearing the circle of fifths yet?????

Whatever happened to the optional challenges for fights? I thought they were better spurs to creativity than the titles. So I think we should have optional challenges back, starting with..."Extremely Long Intro" .

As regards the circle of fifths, what I chiefly remember about them is: If you tune your guitar according to a strict circle of fifths, the rounded recurring decimals give you half a semitone extra after 13 steps...and you'll be out of tune. Not just with everyone else but with yourself too, which is a neat trick.

.... etc....

..and then putting your track on mute.

Or something else that is light and funny. Maybe Ren and Stimpy. Or something like Magical Trevor.

Congratulations to the Yardley Scene - though I'd have been surprised if they didn't win. Also no surprises that BLT and Berkeley got good votage. All good entries.

I think the votes for Illscreen and Canonical show appreciation for where they were aiming, even though by their own admission they didn't quite get there because of rough recording/production. Like I said, this is Rough Demo Fight. I thought Bobo and the Fluffy monster would get more...and zero for Larry?
