Re: the last review of a song etc. (the last afternoon revie
There is no requirement to use the title. It isn't even suggested in the rules. Some quotes from the faq:c.låyne wrote:I figured since it was in lower case it was a subject matter instead of a title.Spintown wrote:c.layne - Didn't hear the title.
"the competitors write a brand new song inspired by one of these titles"
"Write a song based on one of the titles posted"
No where does it say "include the title in the lyrics of your song".

I said that in my own review Spud. The title thing is a personal preference. I've actually said that in a number of my past reviews.

Yeah, but to be fair, that way part of your reviews boils down to "by the way I care about people using the title. Hey Guy A, you didn't use the title. Hey Guy B, you didn't use the title. [...]" No shit, sherlock!

I tend to know when I don't use the title without being told. That being said, if you wanna tell me again in case I didn't realize it when I, you know, wrote the song, I'm okay with that.

I'd much rather not hear the title than hear it awkwardly crammed in to the lyric somewhere.
I like an oblique connection.

True, but if I'm going to knock someone shouldn't I tell them why even if it's something they would already know about? This time I did vote for someone who didn't use the title, but often that's enough for me to not vote for someone. Besides...I've always said my reviews suck. So being obvious & repetitive falls into the suck zone.Yeah, but to be fair, that way part of your reviews boils down to "by the way I care about people using the title. Re: the last review of a song etc. (the last afternoon revie
This particulalr time, the title felt florrid and poetic to me. I usually prefer to get the title into the song lyrics. Like a personal challenge of sorts. I feel it's a matter of personal preference - certainly not required either way (I remember during Nur Ein I did not once say "Patient Number 7;" but referred to my "wait between rooms six and eight.")
In like fashion, I wanted to sort of allude to the feel of the title's flow. So I brought up the last afternoon idea in the chorus statement, and brought the rest of the title idea around in the consequent ("for one more day pretend that you know her" - a kind of stretched out even more setting of the latter part of our title).
This was my plan anyway

DJ, I think you make it very clear that your lyrics danced around the title perfectly and are clearly written for the title. One would have to be pretty lame not to catch that.
