ADDED RoM to subsilver2

Post by jb »

I've added the Review-O-Matic to the subsilver2 theme.

Also, the Review-O-Matic now adds "htrack" class tags to the MP3s, so that while in review mode the Yahoo Web Player playlist will contain only the fight songs, and not any random MP3 link from the Topic Review section of the reply page.

Never mind, I found it by switching to the subsilver2 theme. It's gone from the prosilver theme though.

I would unsticky this thread seeing as how this feature hasn't existed for years but for some reason phpBB isn't giving me the option to. WTF?

EDIT: so I just edited the database directly

I think Jast had a version of this a while back, but I don't seem to be able to find it. Anyone have an easy to hit link that sets up the review reply for me?

If jast’s doesn’t turn up I’ve got some ideas on how a new one could be implemented, which would hopefully also not break every time phpBB updates

It's a side feature I added to the ZIP download page, linked in the top blurb:

I love this thing! Downloader and markup generator both work great. Thanks jast.

Hey can we sticky a link to jast's review-o-matic link or put one on the front page or something? Sorry if I'm not seeing it, I was hunting around looking for it just now so I feel like it's not ultra obvious.

There is now a "review" button on the homepage alongside the "stream all" and an also new-ish "download" button. It links to this page:

https://songfight.org/reviews.php

That will set you up with a review template for the current fight. You can type some/all of your reviews in there and then click the "Preview" button. That should take you to the forums, where you need to already be logged in, which presumably you are. You may see an error about "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again" but you can ignore that. Once you've gotten to a preview on the boards, you can then do things like, save a draft, keep working on your reviews, and ultimately post your reviews.

Geez, how did I miss that? Thanks!

I've cut-and-pasted the template to a local text editor. I've lost far too many things to Internet hiccups while composing online.

Yeah it's always a good idea to copy-paste it rather than to rely on the forum. The forum is a lot more stable than it used to be nowadays but there's still limitations.

There's nothing like typing up several pages of reviews in the forum reply field and having the server glitch to quickly teach you to write them somewhere else and copy paste. At least the amount of effort is the same!
