Remember me? :D

Post by blgisonsongfight »

Hey all! You might remember my very poorly -produced and -recorded entry from - holy fuck, it was actually that long ago - 2011, "Favorite Lego Bricks (Look at the Beach)", submitted as Bootlegged Waters ft. Dante Joseph. I recorded with a crappy-ass USB microphone and an impatient singer. Well, I have slightly (VERY slightly) better equipment, a kick-ass singer willing to help me out and, of course, a HELL of a lot more skill and practice than I did back then and I'm ready to try and dip my feet in the water once more! I hope we can do this regularly, but with school (junior research seminar, yayy...) and other friend things to do who knows how frequently the stars will align - but this week, we are ON! Now to come up with somethin' good...

Absolutely loving what I put together. Have a rough cut of pretty much everything, just need my vocalist onboard. Can't wait to share this with everyone.

Ok, lyrics have been done for days, I am ready to sing...but Caravan Ray has gone walkabout in the Outback for a week or more, and The Chocolate Chips had to bow out for a while. Anyone want to collaborate and help me stick some instruments on this thing?

I'm in on this one.
Not my most inspired songwriting perhaps, but it was fun to put together. :D

I'm in :D
First fight this year.
Due to lack of time I was using drum loop and set-up from that 'Love me a little bit more' fight.
So, it became a ditty with somewhat distorted guitars. Guess, it could've been worse...

Nothing wrong with reusing a setup, and if you're already using canned drums it's not like that makes a difference either.

Submitted last night! Some amateurish recording mistakes (mic was too quiet to I had to max the levels and add MAD gain, resulting in some buzzing) but I like it. LEGGO

mines super choppy. I'll put lyrics up later. figured out a bit ago I sent in a cut-off version so guess I'll see if my updated file gets slipped in. if not, sorry. not that it'll be much improvement. the mastering faeries didn't like my last-second shennanigans this week - and we've got some shrill sounds coming our way from moi. that's my self-review. still, it's a good start and it sounds nice when I play it in my front room, so I'll probably develop it a bit after I get my shreddy reviews back. And rewrite it completely. :/

Yep, CR came back in the nick of time and once again took my words to whole new and amazing levels with his music. I hope to keep working with him for a long time!
