Hey Kids! Here is a tip for new players!

It is a good idea to save files regularly as you work on them. Thay way - when your computer inexplicably chucks a wobbly at 7:30pm on Sunday night - you won't lose EVERYTHING you have been working on, and be forced to stay up to midnight re-recording the whole thing again from scratch.

My funk epic full of horn sections and bongos and guitar solos and stuff has been lost to the ether - and replaced by a stripped back bass/guitar/drums treatment.

Oh well. I'm in.

Feeling like a dumbass. Got my song finished, and what do I do? Forgot to mail it in. If I had a copy on my phone, I could make the deadline, but I don't and am at work. :( Good luck to the rest of y'all!

I was quite late to submit. I wanted to make some changes to the song but I didn't have time in the end.

Also I thought the number of exclamation marks was commensurate with the number of Nur Eins. So this being no 8 it should be

NUR EIN!!!!!!!!

The deadline is as important a part of this contest as are the songs, really. But with 23 contestants, perhaps the judges will consider granting you a favor. Hint: offer a bribe.

Correction. 24 entries. Snuck one more song in there under a cover of darkness.

Inflatable Vegetables? Heh. I was nearing the end of the playlist and now they are there. Woo!

Exclamation points: I think Jon is going for the adding one for every round bit versus a total for whatever number EIN it is. I say it's eight, so...NUR EIN!!!!!!!! If Jon can make it to round eight, then by all means, stack'em up!

We need more well defined exclamation mark rules! How are we supposed to enjoy ourselves if we just willy nilly put punctuation wherever we think it's appropriate! It's a joke, this whole competition will never be taken seriously if we continue to lark about and can't even agree on the proper number of exclamation marks!!!

Because Niveous is a dear, and I made my ride home from work speed through a residential area, I snuck in under the finish line...

And *gasp* I tried to sing. And now y'all will hear why the Pixie does not sing.

Sorry, guys, we got into (admittedly lighthearted) arguments in past years over the number of exclamation points. I think it should increase throughout the competition, one for each round; others think it should be one for each year the competition has been going on.

Reading the past year's discussions on the matter, I sound insufferable, so I'll shut up about it now. Use however many exclamation points you want, enjoy yourself, and Bring Your A Game.

Still lighthearted, Jon. Just bustin' balls. That Zero Round NUR EIN! of yours just looks so wimpy without an exclamation point, though. Poor little guy!

ANYWAY, excellent batch of songs and a great lineup. This is gonna be fun. :D

I am almost certain the adding exclamation points convention was originally suggested by Billy's Little Trip, and at that time he was adding one for each round.

How about next year we start Nur Ein at round 10 and go up to round 17? That way there'll be plenty of exclamation marks.
