+++ I like the smooth/rough dynamic, and I was pretty happy with the vocal performances mostly +++
/// Kind of repetitive, but not too bad, and not too long. ///
--- I had to use the laptop to record again which has the worst mic input ever. So to make it intelligible I have to bring the levels up which brings up the pops and hiss, and is kind of karaoke ---
Father Bingo
+++ Crap, I'm gonna lose again - this is rockin' +++
/// But is this an instrumental? ///
--- Oh no,. It's not instrumental, but it should have been ---
Juice Harp
--- OK, get to the point. ---
+++ Well, I guess it's good for a noise experiment +++
/// The timing is totally off on a few things, but that sounds somewhat intentional. It doesn't add to the listening experience, though. ///

Eight Legged Oedipus: I like this a lot. Your voice is great, and suits the style perfectly, as does the George Martin production. I wonder if the "I can't help it" bit would sound a little clearer with the distored guitar panned hard-right. (Also: you deserve huge kudos for your take on the title. I didn't think anyone was going to get a real song out of this.)
Father Bingo: My guess is you mixed this in headphones. If you listened to it through my speakers, you'd be like "woah, where'd all that bass come from?"
¡Juiceharp!: Marks for trying, I guess. Some interesting sonic noodling but there's not enough "song" in this to get my vote.
Vote = no-brainer: 8LO ... Great job

+ Screaming and howling ... cool
+ I like how the lyrics fit the title without using the title
- I'd like the bass to be a little more pronounced
¡Juiceharp!
| I can sortof make out the title during the song
- Doesn't seem to be going anywhere
- Just not really my bag
Father Bingo
+ I like the bass line
+ I love all the different textures
| Is that a rotary effect?
- The vocals seem gratuitous
I'm giving this one to Eight Legged Oedipus. I like the lyrics and the vocals. Well done!

Right on. I like the gruffy prechorus. Dynamic. Nice melody. WOOF!
Father Bingo
I can get into this as well. I can easily see myself doing that 80's dance move, or moshing to this if I were a kid again. This is sweet too.
iJuiceharp!
Not into the unconventionality of this one. Perhaps you were able to accomplish what your were going for.
..... 8 LO? or FB? probably 8LO

Father Bingo - All you needed was Mad Dog out of Octothorpe guesting on this ... ah well ... I will accept the almost instrumental nature of this song as the title was so sucky that choosing not to write words for it actually makes this song better. great 80s vibe on the keyboard swings it for me. handclaps are a bit sloppy - this was written in an hour jam, wasn't it? All the better for it, if it was.
8LO - Wow - great opening! Don't even mind the hiss. The rather too literal anthromorphic lyric makes me a) think of 'Damn Dog' as covered by the Manics and b) makes me wish for the return of Raised by Wolves. Suitably nasty music but the lyric is suck. Also your voice while good for some reason this time makes me wish to like the song less. I will resist this urge though.
iJuice Harp! - If the ping-pong vocal is actually saying 'real boy' over and over then I might vote for this. The trumpet (which is cleary what the song was written around) is great but just a tad too loud / overpowering. I like this a lot, but seeing as I'm still not sure if it's an instrumental or not (and the tag on at the end suggests that you are trying to make some clever comment on SF's attitude to instrumentals) I am going to cruelly pass you over to vote for father Bingo instead.

REVIEWS
EIGHT LEGGED OEDIPUS - Billy Idol fronting the Stray Cats. Very good attitude to this song, setup by that unique bass line. Simple & tight rhythm section. Nice subtle additions (guitar backround in chorus etc.) Chorus is a great contrast from the verse, & the vocal hook is top notch. Anticipating a classy Brian Setzer type solo.. oh well. I think the song could gain from a solo section or otherwise different part. Keeper.
FATHER BINGO - Picked some interesting sounds. Way too much empty space in places to keep my attention. I expect a tie to the subject other than saying part of the subject over & over. Sounds like it should be played during an action scene in a movie, but not in my Media Player.
JUICEHARP - Well.... it's kind of song-like. This is Chop-Shop after an extremely bad week.
One very cool song & some elevator music. Tough Vote

Niv's review paragraph
Super short fight. Yeah. Hope all 3 are good. First 8LO. I like this. Laidback funky song with a nice bassline. The chorus is good. Excellent work 8Lo. Next. Father Bingo. It's an odd mix of Kraftwerk and Surf rock. Very chipper song. Where's the skids? 8LO unless Juiceharp and the extraneous exclamation points can beat 'em. Well, it's got some Jaw Harp. As the owner of one, let me say that this instrument does not set my world ablaze. Where's Dogboy in all this? Oh, tagged on at the end. 8LO with the easy win. Father Bingo 2nd and Juiceharp with #3 narrowly avoiding disqualification.

We did one as well, but didn't enter it due to the one-entry-per-band rule.
You can hear it here, though:

well, there are only 3, so this should be easy.
8lo - where did "all i know is fear" go? too quiet! weird. this is fun. tendons/bending is a fun rhyme. the "i never speak" part is kinda obscured by the sound effects. the howls at the end make it. but clip them at 2:29 and it'll be more concise.
fr bingo - the little weird noises are cool. this song goes along nicely. weird arpeggio or whatever is v cool. er, are there lyrics besides "dog boy"? i like this. but i like 8lo better. i feel like this should have more lyrics... but the bass is great.
juiceharp - interesting idea to de-emphasize the lyrics while actually having them. don't think it works that well, though, because the song is pretty messy. work on eq-ing the parts so they don't plow over each other and it might help. it's ok.
1: 8lo, fr bingo
2: juiceharp
well, my choice is obvious, 8lo all the way.
but first:
bonus review!
# - cool cymbal and intro. the guitar isn't really together. is that some person playing an instrument they never played before? mad dog singing dog boy... hmmmmmmmm. the howling kind of makes this song too... ha ha! interesting message. i like the aad as a whole. i don't think this was the best song on it, but it's fun.

8LO - This is quite sensational. I'll happily rank this as one of the best songs I've heard on Songfight. Vocals are great, and the backing music is very catchy. Reminds me of the wonderful Australian band The Fauves who made a career out of doing catchy songs about ridiculous subjects. That 'raised by dogs' chorus is a stroke of genius!
Father Bingo - This is great too. This would have won in any other fight this week. The bit where it changes - thats awesome. This is also up there with my favourite songfight tunes
Juiceharp - sorry - I downloaded to CD and yours wont play - dont know why
small fight - and i didnt even hear one of them - but the 2 I heard were crackers. I'll vote for 8LO - though both will be going on to CD for further listens

wow. heard that one before. sorry, I'm not keen on soundsculpting entries.

THis is fucking awesome. I LOVE this. LOVE the drums to the right. LOVE your voice and inflection. Great character. LOVE the resolve from the chorus to the verse...brilliant. It's kind of Stray Catish. I'm really really impressed. This is a total keeper and probably vote earner. Great mix. Nice work! Dog howls a bit too long at the end imo.
Father Bingo
This could be The Network if it wasn't so empty. You've got something kind of cool here, but it's too little too long too late. Like the bass line. The devo kind of keys are cool too...the track isn't bad, it just needs more fill.
# - from the AAD, so we know it's a one day affair. A little minimalist and simple for my taste, but some of th e lyrics are great. But as a song, it's not my favourite. The dog howls are inspired.
