He's a terrible Charlie Chaplin impersonator.

BTW, are you the only German on this board? Feels kind of weird to write in English with a German guy. :P

There's a small number of other guys, I believe, e.g. Heine, but I haven't seen them around in a while.
To be fair, I'm not around much, either.

The deadline is tomorrow night. Two people are done. I'm not even close. I also don't have the website ready yet.

How's everyone else doing? Do y'all think some more time might be in order?

I would never say I couldn't use more time.... But I should be able to have it finished tonight, barring any catastrophe.

Not going good at all. I was humming a chorus all week, then for some reason when I started laying it down to chords a few days ago, it changed completely. Now I like the new chorus, but feel pretty weak about the verses. Also the verses have no words yet. Hah. I donno. I get off work at 7pm tonight. Maybe I'll feel less shitty about the song then and actually record something. The only reason I haven't thrown in the towel completely is that it's such a great title and I feel like a dick not honoring it with a song.

I'm getting somewhere, but then I spent a day demolding the basement (previous owner did some interesting things when building a wall cupboard...), and I kind of haven't written the resolution yet, not to mention most tracks still need to be recorded.
So, I think I'll be fashionably late. :)

Since I have neither a song nor a website ready, and it seems a few people are also running behind, let's go ahead and deploy with the tradition deadline extension.

But seriously, get something in by Wednesday, June 18 or I'll start naming and shaming the people who aren't done yet. :-)

I've got a Nur Ein hangover. In amongst some of the regular kind.

I might have the weekend free. i'll see if I can do something then. But then I have to go outback for a week for work.

I've finished my principle recording. I just need to refine my sequenced drum part and then spend some time on the mix.

Ludicrously, the donor of my title has inspired me to use the word "Facebook" in my lyrics for the first (and hopefully only) time.

i have a recording that sounds somewhat like it was done at the bottom of the ocean in a diving bell, with a potato for a mic. this is mostly because i seem to have packed away my recording mic somewhere "safe" and cant remember where i put the damn thing. i will submit it only if i must to not be considered "late" but i will be recording again once i tear my attic apart on friday and find this mysterious hiding spot.

Send the current version, then the "finished" version when you're done with that. I'll replace the potato version with the finished version once you're done.

well since everyone else is taking longer to get shit done I went ahead and tuned some of the vocal timing on mine, so Mr. Eric should of course download the latest mp3 before posting it (it is at the same location as I PMed you)

I also have a "completed" recording, but it needs some significant turd polish. And more notes.. or solos and arpeggios. Or something. Not sure if it's worth sending the potato recording in, but I really won't get a chance to finish up until Sunday.

Out of eleven participants, I've received five entries, including two that are admittedly not quite ready for prime time waiting for a better version to post.

Come on, guys, where are the songs?

Six songs out of eleven submitted and uploaded (just barely over half). Of those six, three are "potato" versions, with better ones to come.

I suppose another extension is in order! I'll post the site (along with the naming-and-shaming of the stiffers) either when I get non-potato versions from Mike and Alex, or at midnight on Sunday, whichever comes first.

In the meantime, I might as well reveal the one item that everyone probably guessed already: Jan Krueger's title went to me. It still needs a little work, but here's the deadline-friendly version of "Behind the Times" for y'all: http://joneric.table2.com/CoT4/joneric_ ... etimes.mp3

So we're fencepoking now?

If you want a spoiler you can listen to mine and maybe even try to figure out what the title is without downloading it and looking at the id3 tag. I have no idea whose title that is.

Or you could just see the wonderful default index page at that site, Jon. I am happy with who got mine.

Encyclopedia Brown is on the case! :P For the record, Mike and Alex both asked me to hold off from publishing theirs until they could turn in new versions, which was why I didn't release all six of the songs I have so far. Mine is also kind of a "potato" version, but to a lesser extent.

There's also a decent looking HTML page like I did with the first two, but I'll refrain from publishing that address until the above listed time, so as not to premature "shame" the holdouts.
