Re: Songifght Live Gear Thread 2014
I will bring my violin, and am willing to play it for people, although I must admit to not being very good at it.
On that note I would love if someone could play violin on my set.
I'll also bring a power strip and a music stand and a couple of mics and cables, because we never have enough of those. Everyone should plan on doing the same, just in case.

Don't feel you need to bring a lot of stuff. There will be at least these items:
Mics and stands
Drums
Guitar Amp
Bass Amp
PA
Electric Guitar
Acoustic Guitar
Bass Guitar
Keyboard
There's a soundboard and stuff too, so you can plug in your goofy doohickeys to the PA.
You'll want some instruments to practice with however, so an extra guitar here and there is always useful.

Re: Songifght Live Gear Thread 2014
Is anyone planning on recording the show? I could see about bringing a portable interface and the gear necessary to hook up to the live board and a room mic or two, and I promise that this time I'll just upload the raw audio tracks and let people parse out their own damn songs. :)

I may have asked this already but, will there be music stands? Most of us will be reading off charts. It'd be great if we had 3-4 music stands.

Oh, do you already know what output plugs the board has? RCA, 1/4", etc.?jb wrote:Sure, that would be fine.fluffy wrote:Is anyone planning on recording the show? Re: Songifght Live Gear Thread 2014
JB,
Will there be a place to keep the instruments while we go to the after party?
Also, what is the parking situation at the venue?
(Not to derail the thread, but it's gear-related...)
Thanks

If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Not specifically, but I've seen it peripherally and it's a pretty good sized board so I would expect it to have the normal stuff. 1/4" at least.fluffy wrote:Oh, do you already know what output plugs the board has? RCA, 1/4", etc.?

There is street parking. I think we can talk to the owner and see if we can leave our junk in the venue and pick it up the next day. Otherwise we'll drag it back to my house (.5 miles away) and then meet everybody else wherever they wind up.

Har har. I had a bad experience once with using someone's mic that had a bunch of food speckles stuck in it.
