Niveous, checking in.
Did anyone get any good new musical stuff recently? My wife got me a digital drum kit for Christmas. It's been a fun addition to the music making. Plus my son M, the real drummer of the family, can now play drums in the apartment without pissing off the neighbors.

My loved one has long since learnt not to give me any encouragement to make music I did get the Sleaford Mods' new album, which I am taking inspiration from, on the sly ...

I got a new microphone, which I used on my Three Stars song for Song Fight. Yeah, one and a half times better than the one I used for No Take Backs.

I bought an electric cello. Haven't recorded it yet but it's fun to play. A little awkward to hold though.
I also finally did an acoustic treatment in my studio, since I found a seller on Amazon selling 24 square feet of acoustic tiles for around $40 shipped. So far I've only used 8 of the tiles in strategic locations behind and near my speakers, and it made a huge difference to my monitoring. (I also hung some cheap acoustic curtains but that didn't make any measurable difference, but it at least made a nice backdrop for the crappy video I recorded with Spud last weekend.)

Re: Jan 15, 2015
I have a new boyfriend.
No - I haven't gone all Johnny Cashpoint or anything - but a bloke who has started playing locally has similar taste and a similar vocal range, so when we sing together (doing very muscular "Aussie" pub rock classics) - it sounds really cool.
So that is fun.

I know, I'm not a part of this, but it was too easy.

From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

Well if you want a part of #billyslittledick (as we've suspected all along) then all you have to do is ask. He's too easy, as well.

Re: Jan 15, 2015
I've long since lost track of which items were for which special events and such, but I recently (as in, in the last four months) got a FocusRite Scarlett audio interface, a Rode microphone, a new microphone stand, a djembe, a cajon, a ukulele, and a melodica!
