Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

In doing the SF:TR cards, I have to do a lot of research. One painful thing I keep running into when look back through the forums is early posts of my own. I really do wonder how many people hated me back then because there must have been a fair number. I'm amazed at how much of a difference ten years makes.

Do any of you get those same kinds of feelings when you read your old posts?

Not for me. In all the years I've been here, people have consistently treated me like a sardine and Limburger sandwich on a hot summer day. :P

Honestly, everyone has been pretty awesome here.

Yes. I also feel that way whenever I look at my old comics, read my old blog entries, look at my old code, and listen to my old music.

Supposedly it's a sign of getting better than you look back on your old stuff and can't stand it. I'd like to think that if I ever stopped hating my old output it'd mean I have stopped improving.

not necessarily old posts, but definitely old songs... and yeah, old code too... we found a really harebrained mistake in my old code the other day. very embarrassing. i meant to inherit classes from the base class for polymorphism...but didn't actually inherit them. so when somebody changed the data, everything went haywire.

Very occasionally, there are posts or songs I am not proud of. Doesn't mean they're good but I still stand by them. Seriously, maybe two or three songs that I should have kept in the archive, maybe a dozen posts where I'm baiting, rather than adding something I think is worth sharing - But I felt the same way at the time I first submitted them, as well, I just didn't care enough.

For the most part, I have not evolved as a human being over 11 years at SF, thankfully, other than to think a bit more about how people I am annoying will take umbrage at what I have just written. My only steadfast rule is "It's not funny, even if it is". Which has stood me in good stead since somewhere around 2007, when I first posted it.
