4/3/15 "Weird Al" Yankovic
I realize that a lot of us songfighters have a sense of humor and love comedy, so I'm asking you, what is your favorite "Weird Al" Yankovic song?

One More Minute -original.
Another One Rides the Bus- parody
I enjoy that Amish Paradise was a parody of Gangstas Paradise which is a parody of Pastime Paradise.

I know, right? A lot of people know right away what the original rap song is, but Pastime Paradise is more of a forgotten song. I have a hard time choosing my favorite. Stop Forwarding That Crap to Me and Don't Download This Song (both originals), and Perform This Way and Handy (parodies). I got the 2011 album Alpocalypse with Perform This Way on it the day of release, and the 2014 album Mandatory Fun with Handy on it a few days after the day of release.

"Everything You Know Is Wrong" is my favorite original.
Favorite parody is a toss-up between "Tacky," "Smells Like Nirvana," and "Word Crimes"

I LOVE Weird Al.
Amish Paradise is probably my favorite. But you got to love the Michael Jackson parodys since they started it all.
I really enjoy his medolies, especially the one he did with all metal songs.

From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

Best artist chosen so far.
My favorite used to be "Albuquerque", but now it's "Mission Statement".
EDIT: I realize that I just claimed that Weird Al is better than the Beatles, who were themselves bigger than Jesus. I stand by this statement.

Re: 4/3/15 "Weird Al" Yankovic
Been a fan since "Eat It" came out. What was that, 30 years ago?
Seen him live three times. First time was in a crowded saloon when he was touring for Off The Deep End, where I met Bermuda Schwartz before the show and got Al's autograph (and a kinda sorta maybe approval of my hand farting abilities) after the show. Second time was in a theater near Hollywood and Vine (with RG) in the Bad Hair Day era. Third time was in a half-empty theater during the Poodle Hat tour.
Favorites? Oy, where to start? I love his polka medleys to death and never tire of them. "Word Crimes" in brilliant. I like nearly all of the well known parodies, and I especially enjoy his pastiche tunes because they represent a who's-who of my favorite artists (Police, Boingo, Devo, Talking Heads, Zappa, Cake, Queen, etc).
He'll be playing near where I live now in late August. Would love to see him again.

"White and Nerdy". He spun Chamillionaire into gold. Quite a difficult task.

Re: 4/3/15 "Weird Al" Yankovic
Oh man, I played the heck out of "In 3-D" on record back in the day. I've seen him in concert ummm two or three times. Once he said it was his lifelong ambition to do a concert in the middle of a horse racing track. With folding chairs.
Anyway, favorites are tough - I love "White and Nerdy" and "Ebay" and "Word Crimes" and "One More Minute" (cf GOM this year) but of the old stuff probably "I Lost on Jeopardy".

In 3-D was one of the first records I bought with my own money (still have the vinyl), so Nature Trail to Hell and Eat It will always have a special place, but I think I have to go Another One Rides the Bus.
