6/1/15 Hall & Oates

Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

Hall & Oates have been a recently acquired taste for me. My wife is a fan, but I never really was before I met her.

I guess I'll go with "Rich Girl."

I love Hall and Oates! You'd think I'd gravitate to all the Fripp stuff. I like that stuff, but their genius was their early 80's pop.

You Make My Dreams is my pick.

I Can't Go for That (honorable mention)
Phillipso, Older Brothers, Semolina Pilchards, Zipline , Thank Glennny for the Frisbee, The Odoriferous Valley, The Worldly Self Assurance, Berkeley Social Scene, Very Gentle Knives, Daddy Bop Swing Set, GUNS, The Kraken Lives, Cavedwellers

Honorable mention to So Close and Out of Touch.

My favorite is I Can't Go For That (No Can Do). When I proposed to my wife, I took her on a cruise around Manhattan and surprised her. I gave her the ring and there was this moment where we basked in the afterglow. We were on the deck, watching the city go by under a setting sun. And then over the speakers of the ship plays I Can't Go For That. Some would take that as a bad omen. We laughed hard. While our song is "Islands" by the xx, this song is the runner-up.

I was reminded of another favorite and now need to change my answer. It's "She's Gone."

However, I will always love this George Watsky repurposing of "Rich Girl."
