How did I miss this one 'til now? Glorious band. Personally 'Top of the World' is up there with 'Sugar Sugar' as best pop song ever written, so I'll take that. But just a voice as pure as ether and a brilliant ear for an arrangement. What's not to like? j$

Close to you is obvious, but I love that song. That's my pick.

My high school art teacher knew them at Long Beach State, she also used to play bass for them in one of their configurations in the Long Beach State era, I think it might be the Spectrum band, but I'm not sure.
Phillipso, Older Brothers, Semolina Pilchards, Zipline , Thank Glennny for the Frisbee, The Odoriferous Valley, The Worldly Self Assurance, Berkeley Social Scene, Very Gentle Knives, Daddy Bop Swing Set, GUNS, The Kraken Lives, Cavedwellers

Honorable mention to Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft, Close To You, and Rainy Days and Mondays

My favorite is Superstar

Note- I tend to enjoy Carpenters covers more than the originals. I can listen to If I Were A Carpenter all day.
