Apparently, all you have to do is set an iPhone on top of the piano.

I mean okay the recording quality isn't amazing by any stretch, but it sure sounds way better than one would expect.

At first, I wondered if they took a feed off the board, but later in the first song, started hearing "vocals." You could probably do this for small classical ensembles, too. Other styles: I know Cowboy Junkies did one mic recordings for a couple of their records back in the late 80s.
