NUR EIN XIII: Never Knew the Guy lyrics
NUR EIN XIII: Never Knew the Guy lyrics
IVEG - Never Knew the Guy
Homeless guy in dusty sandals
Hanging with outcasts and criminals
Speaks in stories, wrapped in riddles
Farmers under occupation
Crying to him for solutions
Will you lead the revolution
The crowd
Never knew the guy
Never knew the guy
Didn’t spend the time
To see the grand design
Never knew the guy
Leaders fear his growing power
We’ve got to silence his followers
Before our nation is devoured
The leaders
CH
I’ve been sitting at his feet for three years
Tonight it looks like all our dreams are over
Kangaroo courts listening to lies so they can kill him
It’s dangerous to sit here watching
People point accusing fingers
I swear I
CH
I remembered what he told me
I went outside and cried
Homeless guy in dusty sandals
Hanging with outcasts and criminals
Speaks in stories, wrapped in riddles
Farmers under occupation
Crying to him for solutions
Will you lead the revolution
The crowd
Never knew the guy
Never knew the guy

Re: NUR EIN XIII: Never Knew the Guy lyrics
(Vom Vorton)
the legends say he was born in a far-off land
made to leave by forces he could not understand
he was raised by a kind couple in a small town
taught him to fit in by toning his powers down
before long he could not resist the call
to solve the world’s problems, be they huge or small
I’ve been tasked with writing his biography…
I don’t know why it was they came to me
and said
“we heard you’ve seen
his laser eyes”
no! I never knew the guy!
“did you ever
see him fly?”
no! I never knew the guy!
when he wasn’t saving the world, he got in a tangle
a particularly complex love triangle
when things got too much he found it shrewd
to take a break in his fortress of solitude
and now he hasn’t been seen in a while
the papers said maybe he died
I guess that’s why you’re asking
but I don’t think I’m qualified…
“we heard you’ve seen
his laser eyes”
no! I never knew the guy!
“did you ever
see him fly?”
no! I never knew the guy!
“we heard he scanned you with
his x-ray eyes”
no! I never knew the guy!
“you know you two
look alike?”
that’s not true, I wear glasses!
and I never knew the guy!

Never Knew the Guy
-Owl Chemist
Simon was a man
A Judean man
A fisherman
A rock-hard man
He met a man
A preacher man
Who had a plan
So Simon joined his band
And the preacher said to him,
"You will be The Rock"
"You will be The Rock"
"You will be The Rock"
Jesus told him so
"You will be The Rock"
"You will be The Rock"
"You will be The Rock"
"'Peter' - let's roll!"
So they roamed across the land
From Jerusalem to Galilee
Showing kindness to the sick and the poor
Made them a lot of enemies
They nailed Jesus up to a cross
And said, "Hey Pete - wasn't he your boss?"
Simon stopped being hard as rock
And before the crowing of the cock, he said
"I never knew the guy"
"I never knew the guy"
"I never knew the guy"
Three times he said,
"I never knew the guy"
"I never knew the guy"
"I never knew the guy"
Turns out Jesus was a hard man to keep down
3 days later, J was back in town
Said, "Peter, say you love me three times - be my rock
When I'm gone , I need you to tend my flock
Pete said,
"Yeah, I know this guy"
"He's an awesome guy"
"Really love this guy"
Three times
"Yeah, I know this guy"
"He's an awesome guy"
"Really love this guy"

Nick Soma - Never Knew the Guy
Kevin was born in the middle of nowhere
In the year of 1979
His life would soon get worse
Although at first it was all fine.
Kevin's mother was protective,
Shielded him from all that's wrong.
His stepfather was difficult,
They couldn't get along.
His real father fathered him,
Then soon went off to die
When Kevin was one year of age,
He never knew the guy.
Never knew the guy,
He'll keep on asking why
Life was so unfair, and no one seemed to care
Never knew the guy
Sucks when you're supposed to have a father but you
Never knew the guy
Growing up, his stepdad beat him,
Treated him like dirt
At sixteen years, he got a job
Escaped the pain and hurt
Playing the piano
Was the only joy he had
Whenever he played it,
Things would not seem quite so bad
But someone crashed into him
Riding on the bike at night
Left his left hand crippled
And he never knew the guy
Never knew the guy,
Who destroyed his life,
He couldn't play the same, who was there to blame?
Never knew the guy.
Sucks when all your dreams are smashed by hit and run, he never knew the guy.
He moved away to a new town
To live a quiet life
Still something raged inside of him,
Cutting like a knife
He had a boring office job,
A house and garden too.
Nobody would have guessed
The thing one sunny day he'd do.
Frustration piled up high inside,
He saw him passing by
He chose a random victim
He never knew the guy
Never knew the guy,
Hit him in the eye
Shot him in the head
Left him lying dead
Never knew the guy.
Some unlucky person in the wrong place at the wrong time had to die.
Just a few weeks later
Silently he hanged himself inside his cell
Few came to his funeral, as nobody had known him quite so well
Kevin Browne died at the age of 32 and left just tales to tell
"Good riddance" all the neighbors say, "I hope that horrid man now burns in hell"
Though they never knew the guy,
They keep asking why
"He was so polite,
Something wasn't right
There's no reason why
We thought he was harmless, didn't see the monster, never knew the guy"
Sucks to think maybe you could have done something
But then again
You never ever really knew the guy

Never Knew The Guy
a biography
born in the forest
raised by wolves
no compassion
for human rules
he was taught to
take what you can get
scam and swindle
without any regret
he promised everything
but delivered nothing
a knife in your back
without a warning
as it became clear to me
I never really knew the guy
I thought he was my best friend
but it turned out
he was just a passerby
it turned out
he didn’t choke on his first lie
he became quite famous
he was his own first priority
treat other people bad
they are just a minority
tell and promise people
what they want to hear
pretend to be the messiah
play on their worst fear
he earned millions
and lost billions
still he thought
he was the best
as it became clear to me
I never really knew the guy
I thought he was my best friend
but it turned out
he was just a passerby
it turned out
he didn’t choke on his first lie
and when he dies
knowing he has failed
the flames of hell
will be his fate
as it became clear to me
I never really knew the guy
I thought he was my best friend
but it turned out
he was just a passerby
it turned out
he didn’t choke on his first lie

Never Knew The Guy (LW | RG)
I heard you were a gin drinker
who liked to play cards
had a penchant for blondes
and vintage cars
Heard you threw a mean right
had an eagle tattoo
and every day my mother says
I look just like you - just like you
chorus (x2)
that’s the story they tell me
since you took off one night
they tell me about my father
but I never knew the guy
You were a varsity jock
who listened to punk
Couldn’t hold a job
‘cause you never gave a fuck
Heard you had a temper
and I have your eyes
Heard you loved my mother
and your mistress on the side - on the side
that’s the story they tell me
since you took off one night
they tell me about my father
but I never knew the guy
bridge:
Water broke on prom night
and you didn’t stick around
You send postcards
from a hundred different towns
Heard I have a sister
hope you treat her well
But as for you, you can go to hell
go to hell
go to hell
that’s the story they tell me
since you took off one night
they tell me about my father
but I never knew the guy
“Fuck that guy.”

Never Knew the Guy - Carlo Bruno Jr.
Birth is almost the same for all. Simultaneously it is not.
So we make our first steps and will see similar dangers that are to come.
There are many undeserved rewards or many undeserved kicks in the balls.
(it does not make us feel good)
In this amount they do not help, but it’s rather deforming us.
Then, in the mirror is that person looking at us like he never knew the guy
When everything we had to do, had already be done, or not, it will not matter what we wonder,
because we will all have similar crystal bones.
There will be many undeserved rewards or many undeserved kicks in the balls.
(Then) in the mirror is that person looking at us like he never knew the guy.

Re: NUR EIN XIII: Never Knew the Guy lyrics
born and raised in london in the 1860s
little George collected bugs as his only hobby
he found that he enjoyed entomology
and now he owes us one hell of an apology
hey i need to
collect more insects
my job starts too late
I need the sunlight
And I need to move the day
Daylight saving time
Hasn't saved us anything
It's the disease that keeps on taking lives
Every fall and every spring
I never met the guy
who invented DST
But if I had, I'd make him wish
That he had never met someone like me
He moved to new zealand to work the family farm
Little did we know this little boy would cause so much harm
Then he worked the post office but at the wrong time of day
So he proposed a plan to get more bug play
Outside, it's too dark
My shift end too late
I need more insects
I need the sunlight
We need to move the day
Daylight saving time
Hasn't saved us anything
It's the disease that keeps on taking lives

Mandibles
Never Knew the Guy
Chorus:
Once again they file in
Tears welled in their eyes;
Once again we sing the hymns
And Bid the Dead good bye.
Once again I say the prayers
And all they signify;
Once again I’m well aware
I never knew the guy...
Verse 1:
The stories all start
In the very same way
In a nondescript town
On a nondescript day
With the person we all came to share
And then everyone speaks
Of the way that he lived
All the places he went
And the things that he did
And it’s almost like we all were there
Chorus
Verse 2:
That nondescript boy
Went to nondescript school
And he wasn’t a genius,
But he wasn’t a fool,
And fin’lly he got out of town.
And his nondescript dream
Was to change the world,
But he gave it all up
For a nondescript girl
Who ended up just letting him down.
Chorus
Verse 3:
Swearing off love, then,
He turned to the cloth;
Saving many souls
Was his new life’s cause;
Every Sunday morning was the same.
With each passing year
More empty pews
Would sit and listen
To him spread the good news;
He only had himself to blame.
Chorus
Like a ship in the night
My life is tossed
On a sea of mourners
Dressed in black cloth
They only come when faced with death.
I feel like I’m drowning,
Like I lost the light
That once safely guided
Me through the night
I know I’ll soon breathe my last breath.
Final Chorus:
Who is left to file in
With tears welled in their eyes?
Who is left to sing the hymns
And bid dead the dead goodbye?
Who is left to say the prayers
And all they signify?
No one’s left, I’m well aware,
No one ever knew the guy.
Never Knew the Guy

Re: NUR EIN XIII: Never Knew the Guy lyrics
Never Knew the Guy
by Cavedwellers
Challenge: a biography of Adrian Belew
Verse1 -Zappa
At Fanny’s Bar in Nashville
Playing with the Sweethearts
He was Discovered by Frank
Who offered him his big start
The only mother not to read music (the one illiterate Mother)
Crash course (in the Zappa school of)(in Zappa’s) art
Pre-chorus
Eno saw them in Germany
And suggested his hiring to Bowie
Chorus
That's’ the guy that I never knew
I want a career like Mr. Belew
Verse 2- Bowie-TH
He's quite the sound player
(No, a sound sculptor instead)
He played on Boys Keep Swinging
What more needs be said?
Bowie kept that boy from singing
So they wouldn’t sound like Talking Heads
Pre-chorus- Talking Heads
Who already had money and Byrne
Searing solos while Eno’s dials turned
Chorus
Bridge- Tom Tom Club
Tina and Chris covertly suggested
He’d be the frontman they'd get behind
Despite his perfect impersonation that
isn’t exactly what he had in mind
Although he must have been flattered
He promptly and politely declined
Verse 3- King Crimson
Fripp created a four piece
Invited him to Discipline
A fiery foil for frantic Frippery
Enter the new King Crimson
Dollopping liberal doses
of dissonance and gamelan
Pre chorus- “not right for you”
He took in stride the new project news
When Bob said “ it's not right for you”
Chorus
I wonder what next he’ll do
I want a career ...

So they wouldn’t sound like Talking Heads
Pre-chorus- Talking Heads
Who already had money and Byrne
Searing solos while Eno’s dials turned
Chorus
Bridge- Tom Tom Club
Tina and Chris covertly suggested
He’d be the frontman they'd get behind
Despite his perfect impersonation that
isn’t exactly what he had in mind
Although he must have been flattered
He promptly and politely declined
Verse 3- King Crimson
Fripp created a four piece
Invited him to Discipline
A fiery foil for frantic Frippery
Enter the new King Crimson
Dollopping liberal doses
of dissonance and gamelan
Pre chorus- “not right for you”
He took in stride the new project news
When Bob said “ it's not right for you”
Chorus
I wonder what next he’ll do
I want a career ...

Belgian born Romani took his mother's last name
Grew up in encampments just outside of Paris
He married Florine Bella when he was just 17
Knocked over a candle and suffered injuries
One leg was paralyzed but he was happy to be alive
Despite the permanent loss of use for fingers four and five
I Never knew the guy
He was way before my time
I’ll always be impressed
To make the most of what’s left
Teamed up with Stephane Grappelli on jazz violin
With his brother and 2 others, they formed the Hot Club
The ensemble was remarkable, they were all stringed instruments
Popular all over Europe until the war made it too tough
Stephane was up in the UK, and Django was down in France
His life was spared because a German soldier loved his jazz.
I Never knew the guy
He was way before my time
I’ll always be impressed
To make the most of what’s left
