Ooh, I like this title. And that must be the strangest optional challenge I've seen so far...

I already played lentils and buckwheat last week in I Used To Know You Better! Two of my shakers are homemade using tiny Writer’s Tears whiskey bottles 3/4 filled with the aforementioned foods.

Oh I didn't even think of that! And here I was trying to figure out how I could play my guitar with a piece of cheese like Celeryhead without ruining it.

I'm strongly considering this:

I've wanted an excuse for a while. (Edit: the lack of chopping board in that video is killing me. Knife! Hitting the bench straight up! Argh!)

I'm going out of town this week and I don't have time to make 12 different carrot recorders and a carrot slide whistle, but I SO want to do this, wow.

The lack of safety gloves is what gets me. Drilling a straight hole through a cylinder is harder than it looks. If that bit came out the side, some fingers could get hurt. And don't even think of trying this without a variable speed drill! That carrot will be all over the place.

Still, it does look feasible, he said, stroking his beard. . .

Wait, is the challenge "make an instrument out of food"? Or "play an existing instrument WITH food".

Cause those are two very different challenges.

Well I've got a sketch of a song outlined. Apparently I'm back to post-punk inspired stuff this go-round, cause that's what's coming out of my head. Now to write some lyrics! Not sure how to incorporate the optional challenge without ruining my strings though :p

I tried to use eggs, flour, and milk, and then realized the title wasn't I Used to Know you BATTER! Wha-wha...

Forgot to say - Martin and I are in. Also, we already submitted the song yesterday! We did not play our instruments with food. The overachiever in me feels awful about this. Every other part of me is very very ok with it.

I am having a super ridiculously hard time thinking of anything but Dr John's Right Place, Wrong Time when I sit down to with this prompt. Will try again this weekend, but I'm not optimistic.

No food was involved. I thought about using celery drumsticks, but I didn't. I may have gotten some cracker seasoning on my bass strings though. Anyway, Phlebia has submitted!

I bought myself a bag of Bugles yesterday to see if I could fingerpick while wearing them on my fingers like witch hats. The answer is No

I had an idea for a lame joke. I spent a few hours putting it to lame music, and I'm in.

I scrapped the thing I was working on because I hate it. Might send in a late entry if it's still up later.
