Just as long as we're not calling the South Bay "San Francisco."

The San Francisco 49ers play in Santa Clara, about 45 minutes south of San Francisco. Berkeley is a ten minute drive from San Francisco in light traffic. You can see it from the city. Just saying.

Does Santa Cruz count as San Francisco? Let’s go there again. I thought Santa Cruz was very cool - but I never got to go swimming with the otters.

So, the Berkeley venue we used last time has asked us if we would like August 28th and 29th. That's the Friday and Saturday of the last weekend in August. What do y'all think about that?

That's the weekend before Labor Day weekend.

Santa Cruz isn't a 2 hour drive from SF. Maybe the way you drive.

As for otters, not sure about SF. They have sea lions and seals at Pier 39. Sausalito has otters. The ferry ride over there is cheap fun.

We are still hoping to make it if things align fairly well but that weekend is as good as any for us.

That feels very far away and hard to commit to, but currently seems like it would probably be fine for me.

End of August is good for us. The only thing we have on the books so far is the last week of July (booked July 24-Aug.1) and September is often wacky between birthdays, weddings, and miscellaneous travel. We are open any time in June, July that is not the dates above, and after August 1.

Yay!

For anybody who's never come to an SF Live before, everybody is nice and welcoming and it's a really fun time, even if you don't know anybody IRL yet. It's totally worth it. I remember many years ago I skipped SF Live 2004 in Austin because I was too nervous about hanging out with a bunch of strangers, and after having gone now for many years I hugely regret that I missed that one. :)

As someone who hasn't submitted a song in almost 13 years (and as a former "host" myself), I still try to make as many Songfight Live shows as possible. At least the Bay Area shows. And I anticipate being at this one too. Make the effort! It's well worth it.

I encourage avoiding August.
I'm happy to see you posting here again. But ... vague cryptic statements like that are not really super duper helpful. Could you maybe provide some details behind why you would say that? Is it due to conflicts with your own plans that month? Or do you know something about the world's impending doom the rest of us don't? :P
Shush Sam. At roymonds age, it’s good to get anything out of him.

Yes. We are listening Roy!!
Oy! Such disrespect! Sam, I think I gave you details, but here they are for the public record.

Aug 10-16 I'll be out of country with family.
Then I will be delivering two kids to their sophomore year of college the last couple weeks in August.

So, the first week of August is now clear, if that's in the cards :)

Bad weekend for me, but you should absolutely not count mine as an important vote. It would make me very sad to not be there.

Hi fellows! I think maybe the last time I fought was a few years ago around the time of the NY live show. Well - I work in Berkeley now! Moved to Oakland last May. I will be marking my calendar right now.

Just so everybody knows, there's no requirement to have been in a fight any time lately for folks to participate in the show if they'd like to.

Also Elaine if you're ever interested, Berkeley Social Scene loves having folks drop in to collaborate on songs. We do our writing/recording sessions Tuesday nights at our practice space in Oakland in Jack London Square. We've had great times making songs or jamming or just hanging out with a bunch of folks, including JB, Pepper Jane, Mo, MC Frontalot, Pete/Balance Lost, and other folks who I am forgetting who will now probably hate me.
