We were inspired by all the great count ins and downs of modern music, and how the anticipation of the song starting would do something to you.
It hits an emotion that gets your adrenaline flowing and excitement for your favorite song. We added a bunch of actual sample intros to show how visceral it can be. You KNOW these songs, and how they will effect you. Enjoy!

Steve Stearns - The Fibonacci Sequence

Leonardo Bonacci wrote a book, Liber Abaci
Back in Western Tuscany, in the 13th century
He discussed geometry he saw a symmetry
(That he applied to breeding bunnies)
Start with none, then you add a one
Add another one you get two

It's a Fibonacci sequence
Every number is the sum of the two before

Zero and 1 is 1, 1 and 1 is 2, 2 and 1 is 3, 3 and 2 is 5, 5 and 3 is 8
That's how you calculate a Fibonacci sequence

Now this discovery wasn't new you see
It was noted in biology
Expressed in trees in the number of leaves, and also ancestry
You can see a Fibonacci sequence in gastronomy
Just count the buds on a romanesco broccoli

Foundation of the golden ratio here we go

After Dining in Dictionopolis last round, we went for another Phantom-Tollbooth-inspired song this round; we're pretty much committed to making a Phantom Tollbooth album at this point. The challenge made Digitopolis the obvious place to go, and my first idea was a true sequel, Dining in Digitopolis, about the subtraction stew scene, but we ended up writing about a scene from after Milo leaves Digitopolis.

The Terrible Trivium
by The Quantifiers

The Terrible Trivium asks
a terribly trivial task. 

Milo, move the sand from here to here (with tweezers)

So Milo moved a grain of sand
and Milo moved a second (or a minute or an hour)
and Milo moved a third and fourth
and days and weeks unreckoned. (If only he had such a power)
And after quite a while
he’d barely made a pile.

You can count to stupendous amounts
and you can count them back down to one,
But you’ll have found in the end if it counts
Or if your progress amounts to none.
It might be easy, and it might be fun
But you can count on getting nothing done.
