I'm in! While my son did interrupt the trailing cymbal decay by bursting into the garage and yelling "DAD MAY I HAVE A COOKIE?", it was entirely drowned out and indecipherable -- the cute/incomprehensible ratio was too high to warrant inclusion. The joys of (attempting) to record with small children around. Anyway, I'm more stoked about hearing the results of this than the usual fights if only cause it's a nice change of pace.

Don't forget folks, songs are due tonight by midnight US/Pacific time! If you're a little bit late don't worry, as long as I have them in my inbox by Sunday morning US/Pacific. :-)

Rock on!

I'm in now too! Sorry in advance to my recipient for being both sloppy--especially the intro--and maximalist here, but it was fun to make. (I asked my husband what he thought of the mix and his only criticism, aside from disliking EZDrummer, was "it's dense"). But I accidentally sliced up my left index finger while making dinner tonight, so I didn't feel like recording any sparser instrumental bits.

Anyway, I'm excited to hear everyone's songs! Especially Yoyo's guest vocal.5478io89+6+o9

Obviously this place is pretty noticeably tilted toward the US, but I have no idea if there's anyone else here in the southeastern US. The closest that I'm aware of that posts regularly is Pigfarmer and he's 500 miles away. Otherwise it seems like the American crew is pretty heavily skewed towards the west coast or Wisconsin.

JB used to be in Georgia before he moved to DC. Which is still pretty much southeast.

There also used to be a bunch of folks based in Austin. I think some of them still show up from time to time.

Also outside of the left coast and Madison clusters, don’t forget the New York contingent. Used to be a bunch of Boston folks too.

Yeah, the WreckdoM folks are all Austinites, which is kind of the south, but I've always considered Texas (save for far east TX) its own thing -- I'll note that I used to live in Corpus Christi, and it was WAY different culturally.
Maybe the viewpoint is different from the outside, but nobody around here would consider DC to be the southeast, that's the mid-Atlantic. But yeah, I guess I didn't realize that there were as many New Englanders. I guess they're just not as active? Or maybe they just don't broadcast their location.

Great turnout, and great tracks! I received word that at least one more track should be making it in hopefully today. I'll officially announce the "stiffees" tomorrow along with a followup challenge to get them their tracks. :-) If you do still intend to submit a track in the very near future, please let me know. If you did submit a track and you're not on the list below, please PM me ASAP so I can get your track added. I did have a couple messages end up in spam, but hopefully I got them all.

Hope everyone had a good time with this!

I've moved all the track links to the first page so I don't have to keep editing multiple places:

Gift of Music - COVID-19 Special Edition Tracks

If anyone wants to grab the raw tracks, you can just pull them all from here.

Excellent! This song has my favourite guitar solo of all time and it is an honour and a privilege to hear Paco totally shredding it. Thanks Paco!

This was the last song I expected anyone to cover out of my track list, but I'm so pleased you did! I love it, fantastic job. The epic synth riff at the end is perfection. Thank you Jocko!

Ha! While 39 By Design wasn't quite the one I expected to get covered I dig what you did with it Caravan - somehow it changes the vibe when you make it all synthpoppy like that :) thanks!

I'm enjoying these a lot.

Added Neutronflow for Glennny - Dylan Thomas that I apparently missed. Thanks Neutron!

Cybronica - I am absolutely loving this arrangement, the vocals in particular. You stayed faithful and made it your own at the same time, like all great covers do. And I'm totally OK with shortening it to a more reasonable length. Well done, thank you!

I'm underway but not there yet, have every intention of being in within the next few days, a week tops. I'm not able to do my usual full band arrangement but I'll come up with something.

Oh man, Logic murdered my mp3 conversion dead (I'd only checked the start and the end, which were, coincidentally, fine). @mikelamb, I'm uploading a new file for you!
