I've got all the songs minus Jocko, will be posting them up shortly, then I'll leave it to BoffoYux to provide details for the listening party.

Monday 5/4/20 at 9 pm EST - I'll try and have a preshow running before that for a while...
If the 'Mythical Creature' SongFight is posted by then, I can add that to the evening's festivities as well. Otherwise, I'll replay 'Bent Straight'.
Think of it as a shakedown to get my system back up and running for the Nur Ein Monday Night LPs starting 5/11!

Thank you Jerkatoria! I am so flattered and delighted that you chose to do two songs and I LOVE your versions.
Also unexpected bonus to hear the Phlebia Vowl cover! You, sir, are a madman.

We'll be able to watch the LP in the morning, right? My kids go to bed around that time, but I've got 8 hours of telework tomorrow to which it would be a delightful soundtrack.
And Vom -- I suppose there are some benefits to having long-term, fairly prolific collaborations with fellow entrants, eh? It was a good song, I'm glad I covered it as faithfully as possible!

I've been listening at random and am saving some for tomorrow, but so far these have all been great. Special mention to Paco, that Hot Pink Halo cover is amazing!
Thanks for organising again, Mike!

Oh man, that’s the greatest cover of a song about someone having their drugs delivered to my work (twice) ever! Thanks Paco!

Re: Original Flava Coverfight - COVID-19 Special Edition
Is Caravan Ray's song 'Better Be Home Soon' for Gift of Music? Feels like it's the Crowded House tune...
I'm trying to get all the covers and originals downloaded so we can hear them back to back.

Caravan Ray sent over a bunch of songs, I just added them all in. Yes, I believe he said one was for a GoM.

Yeah, that’s definitely a cover of Crowded House, which was one of my requests for gom. Thanks Caravan!

Re: Original Flava Coverfight - COVID-19 Special Edition
If someone had asked me which song of mine Glenny should cover, this would absolutely be the one. I'm really digging this arrangement!
If you're playing the originals, be aware that my original (Put Cindy Back on the Bus) has two versions, the original Song Fight one and the far-superior album version. Choose accordingly.

Thanks @sleepysilverdoor! This is great, but honestly I wish you'd taken a few more risks... it sounds so much like the original, it's kind of boring.sleepysilverdoor wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 11:40 amWe'll be able to watch the LP in the morning, right? Re: Original Flava Coverfight - COVID-19 Special Edition
some neat stuff ya cool cats & kittens; phlebia's version of vowlsound's "shock value" is pretty insane. loving it. Johnny Cashpoint's version of the Lichen Throat song is pretty interesting too.
btw to the jerks, in case you're curious - these are the other songs I considered doing (I had it down to 5 and just kept to Jerkatorium songfight entries as to not overwhelm myself with too many choices): "it's not over" "don't come here to live" "super creepy" & "change is coming"

Yes. Maybe bit of confusion there. Sent that to Mike to add to the other GOM covers. Don’t think Crowded House have never entered SongFight. Sorry Mike - can that get removed and added to other page?

Re: Original Flava Coverfight - COVID-19 Special Edition
Omg Third Cat, I really loved your version of Ocean of Blood! You turned it from this sorta twisted dark-folk tune into a lovely atmospheric and slightly trippy Third Cat song. I especially love the end of the bridge (my favorite part of the original too) which gives me chills, it's so good!
Heh, hopefully you didn't have to listen to "It's not Over" too many times, as that is probably our very worst song. It's interesting that you picked "don't come here to live", "change is coming" and "ocean of blood" from our list, as those are from our less manic, more serious side.
Thanks again for your cover, and to everyone who participated, this has been an amazing side fight!

Thanks Vom, I'm stoked you enjoyed our covers! I absolutely love "Your Discarded Cigarette" and have been listening to it a lot since finishing it. When I saw that we had drawn you, I immediately thought of that song, which had stuck with me ever since I saw you perform it on YouTube a couple of months back, I'm pretty sure most of your views are me

Thanks, Johnny! I love seeing what you did with my song, especially the changes that you made at the end, which I think are a big improvement.
