Nur Ein XV Round Three "Rear Window"

Post by Niveous »

It's time for a Nur Ein classic, the Guest Round

Submit an original song by May 31st at 11:59 PM (EDT) that fits the following criteria

Title: Rear Window
Challenge: Tell a story from multiple points of view. For each additional perspective, recruit a guest vocalist.

Examples:
Human League- "Don't You Want Me"
The Cast of Grease- "Summer Nights"
Pogues/ Kirsty MacColl- "Fairytale of New York"

Note- two points of view will fulfill the challenge, but you are not limited to two.

Send your MP3 to nurein.sidefight@gmail.com

Good luck!
"I'd like to see 1984 redubbed with this in the soundtrack."- Furrypedro.

Oh dear. Another crap title/ challenge combo. Looks like last weeks good one was an anomaly.

Rear window / different perspectives!?!? Really!?!?

Mind you. The ghost of Grace Kelly has graciously agreed to do my guest vocals. So thats all good.

Sorry we messed up on the round one challenge. Good to hear we're back on form.

If I may throw in another example of a song that illustrates the challenge... I never got sick of this Gotye/Kimbra song, no matter how much it got overplayed.

Instant classic.

I haven’t heard that song for ages. Still love it. Can’t help but imagine Gotye as Federation Square and Kimbra as Storey Hall now though, having watched the video again.

Look at the bright side: You might be eliminated this round anyway, and then you won't need to write a song!

Oh dear! The 102nd Nur Ein challenge is pretty close to the challenge from the 58th song! Well, that's it folks. Competition over. We're just repeating ourselves now. No sense in letting this continue any further.

Well - me and the ghost of Grace Kelly have split due to artistic differences. Never mind - Pepper Jane has stepped in. Judges can't vote me out now. That would be unfair to Pepper Jane.

@Glenn

Come on man, you make lists and spread sheets, I make lists and spread sheets. We both know we're talking about the 115th challenge being similar to the 65th. Or are we not counting " bring your A-game" as challenges. In which case it's the 101st similar to the 57th. Which is very similar to what you said, but somehow I'm off by one.
You've officially driven me crazy.

That is what I live to do! Glad I could oblige!

Full disclosure - Miscalculation on my part.

No spreadsheets in this instance. I went to the Nur Ein website, and failed to count the round zero entries, and there was no round zero for the first Nur Ein.

Precisely right. There wasn't. I was a judge for the very first round zero.

In fact I look forward to someone making a song about Glenn trying to manipulate a spreadsheet. That won't win you anything, but I might chuckle

If anyone still needs a guest vocalist I'm willing, please PM me.

Having said that, please note that Chumpy is Jerkatorium's lead vocalist for good reason: I am not a good singer and would prefer to supply a harmonized or vocoder (your choice) vocal guest spot if called upon.

For the second week in a row, I had planned on not needing to record a song, and was surprised to find I survived the round.

Thank you, judges!
