Well shit. I've had some time issues recently; ie, not enough of it. Was going to skip Potential Consequences, but had an offer I couldn't refuse. So I was going to skip this week except SHOEGAZE.

Well what do you know, wife got me a reverb pedal for my birthday. I used it in my "Potential Consequences" but this means that it needs to be super prominent this go round. Guess I'll crank up the tail and hit the whammy.

Okay I recorded a riff late last night. It's loud and vague and warbly so I guess I need to add enough elements to make it into a song.

How is everyone's shoegaze coming? I kind of landed in "Swervedriver gone Krautrock" but I'm curious about everyone else.

Sorry, no shoegaze. Again some kind of LMMS copy and paste music. There were these strange melodies and chords... and they forced me to do it. Piano, vibraphone, bass, brass, strings, drums... (Please put a 'fake' before each instrument.) Even a little bit of autotune in it (my very first time on SF!)
Next time I'll have to take my guitar before I get used to programming and not playing.

Definitely heading in a shoegaze direction, need to add some more shimmery layers to get there though I think. Never really sure which influences I'm channelling, I'll let somebody else figure it out after it's finished!

Currently taking a break from soldering my pedal.

Yeah, I usually don't set out to do something, I just come up with stuff and then realize "oh, this kind of reminds me of this song" and then hope that I didn't accidentally rip anything off too closely without realizing it. I type that after realizing that I used the same chord progression and similar beat to my "The Password Is _____" entry. Oops.

Ok, I've got riffs. I've got lyrics. Time to mush them together. I've got a lot of reverb and delay, but I don't think I'll be able to stretch the definition enough to call this Shoegaze.

Trying to write lyrics that don't bounce, and it's going okay.

I'm doubt I'm going to get anywhere near shoegaze, mine's currently sounding like the theme from Blade Runner (original).

Idk what we're doing, we were aiming for what we know as "dreamo." There's reverb, delay, and rapid dynamic contrast. Lyrics are leaning full-silly.
Also, I got this beautiful (3/4 size) lady stringed up today (for the first time since I got her in a trade for a cheap guitar), so she's on the metaphorical table.

We've got lyrics, objects that loosely resemble riffs, DIY effects pedals, and reverb. Am I going to fit a saxophone in it somehow? Yes, yes I am.

I'm old and cold and hunkered down in the basement, so mine is more like slippergaze.

Also an impressive amount of first takes on my song, for whatever that is worth.

When I was a little kid I made a new friend who'd just moved to town. He was in a real life TV commercial with a super model. Channeling that.

I'm in. Not shoegaze. Someone sent me examples of shoegaze. I still can't tell you what it is.

I’m in with a song about the lavish and luxurious lifestyle of the rich and famous former child model Sweeney Toad.

Is it shoegaze, or is it dreampop? I don't know, but I submitted it anyway.
