I would love to not be ignorant of the rules, which would presumably require the judging panel to clarify whether reinstatements are or are not going to occur. In either case, I don't see why I wouldn't be free to submit a shadow entry.
LT, you are always free to submit shadow entries. I think J$ was attempting to make a joke and it's gone horribly awry. I, for one, always appreciate shadows. Nur Ein is not just a competition but a challenge for one's own creativity. The competition is the driver. If you want to keep going without that impetus, more power to you.
Indeed, apologies. My anger at the Eurovision results manifested in a strange way. That's my bad. Sorry, Lichen Throat!

Regardless of reinstatement, I welcome LT’s shadows and any other eliminated NE contestant, for my own personal listening if nothing else
Same here.

Although be warned, my songs get WAY WEIRDER when unconstrained by potential FAME AND GLORY... :?

I got mine in yesterday. My field recordings are "messing around with the AM radio in my car" (thematically linked) and also a recording of a thunderstorm I made recently that turned into "rescuing my cat from a sudden downpour" (atmosphere only).

I don't care about that! It was France losing out to Italy in the general public vote (and therefore the results) despite France being a much better song than the Italian monstrosity! I'm over it now. :)

That UK entry was balls and it deserved every single one of the zero votes it got.

I’ve written better songs for songfight!

See, this is why I'm happy to have you as a judge. It gives a variety of opinions like how much we differ on the rocking Italy song and the French snorefest.

Submitting now! I suspect the mix is going to sound pretty messy to anyone who doesn't know what all the parts are -supposed- to sound like. But hey what else is new.

I wrote a song inspired by my daily walks and so I took a walk with my FIELD RECORDING EQUIPMENT to gather some AUDIO for insertion into this SONG MUSIC TRACK. It's a subtle, boring take but I hope the track makes up for it (J$'s narration voice: it doesn't)

Mandibles are in! Not sure if our final edit made it in under the wire, tho.

When I was a kid, I used to se faces, figures, and shapes in things like tiles, rugs, and most often trees. I have a strong memory of looking out my window as a kid and seeing a fox, a face, a person in the branches of the woods that lines my backyard. Our song is about that.

Also bonus: a Mandibles song that is only 3 minutes long. whaaaaaaa~

About halfway through recording my vocals I realised that the song was in the wrong key for my voice. I did attempt to rerecord the whole thing but ran out of time, so you get the original.

I used a recording of the announcer from my local train station and based my track on that.

I wasn't sure how to take field recording so I took it literally and recorded my backing vocals in a field.
