Sometimes the lyrics pour freely and effortlessly into near-perfect form. This was not one of those times.

I get an internal server error every time I try to post in the lyric thread. Yesterday and today. And other people have posted fine which is... weird?

edit: apparently it was because my apostrophes had been formatted as characters the board doesn't understand, I guess. OK now.

I just cried laughing at Balance Lost's liner notes. Oh god it's time to go to bed.

In. Allergies were rough this week and my final chorus suffered for it. Lets pretend I could have done it if there were no allergies.

So fun update. I thought the title was "Drag Me Down".

........I MIGHT have time to fix this.

I'm in! With a very.. odd one this week. Quite a hard challenge, I'm excited to hear how y'all built your bridges.

Yeah, don't write stuff with quotes/apostrophes/etc. in Microsoft Word then copy and paste it into Web forms, it will often blow things up because MS programs put in different slightly less standard versions of those characters (fancy curly ones) than other programs, and programmers often forget to account for that. It's something I've had to fix bugs around for 20 years.

Okay. In for real. Luckily the lyrics still worked with the offending word corrected.

The intro of my song is the riff from round 0 morphed into the new song.
The outro of my song is the part of the field recording that comes before the start of my round 1 song.
Lyrically, the narrative goes along with round 0 and round 1.
Genre-wise, it's a good in-between song for a modern album, and probably the correct duration for what it is.

That's my case for this song bridging the two other songs. I will say no more.

I sent in a song two hours ago, but no confirmation yet. Hopefully everything went OK with the sending process. Anyways. I enjoyed this challenge a lot, so thanks to whoever was the judge who suggested it. I hope you guys like flanger.

Mandibles got in not only with a 3.5 minute song, but also 20 minutes to spare! I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't get a confirmation.

Our round zero song had a musician who was just feeling not good enough. Round one had an office worker feeling unfulfilled and nostalgic.

This song is the stepping stone between the two.

Aww, Lucky Spoon had a really satisfying course correction between rounds 0 and 1... but also was a strong candidate for the most challenging two songs to bridge together. I'm really sorry to see them cut.

Aww, I was looking forward to the bunnies going on a grand ceiling adventure! Sorry to see you go, Lucky Spoon.

Preemptively, I would like to note that the lead on the Mandibles song is not me, but our other female vocalist, Estaphonia. Sometimes people mix us up, but I think she has a richer voice than mine! :)

I don't use MS Word, also I've been copying and pasting from the same place pretty much as long as I've been on here so I'm not sure what changed. I've had to fix similar bugs in the desperately outdated software that my company runs on but I thought most web stuff was a little more flexible.

Ah ok, sorry for explaining something you already were familiar with. My bad. Are you able to reproduce the issue still with the same text you were posting? If so maybe post it to the SF Slack and we can try to figure out what's going on.

Yeah it's still doing the same thing if I paste my lyrics in and hit save draft, preview or submit.

I'm also hitting a wall with this.

Lyrics copied and pasted from my notes in Logic (like I usually do and have no problems with). I tried retyping the apostrophes to see if that was the issue but it's still not working for me.

I figured out that it was something to do with the line breaks in mine, rather than odd punctuation. I jigged it around in a plain text editor and that worked.
