Eighteen, and you just want to make out.
Blinking; suddenly your life has played out
All the options gone, the boxes greyed out -
Welcome to the long fade out
Long fade out
Long fade out
Long fade out
Eighty, and you know you're on the way out
Your early potential never paid out
All that you achieved was to fill out
One more victim of the long fade out
The long fade out
Long fade out x6
The Long Fade Out

Re: The Long Fade Out
It is all I can do to go on now.
Surely life it should last for some years.
But now time is an emptier fall.
It’s a pit to swallow me in tears.
We were so happy together.
You and I were best friends from the start.
Now you have left me forever.
And I fear it has broken my heart.
They promised me the battery life was longer.
Now my phone is dead, my heart grows stronger
Oh, from breaking and mending again and again.
Now my phone is all dead, and I have no friend.
Now our days of Facebook and Google
Are but a fond memory past.
I’ve never been quite so miserable
As the day in which we have searched last.
Oh! For all the hours I spent on you!
Oh! The pages my scrolling finger turned!
Alas! The days of social media are through!
If only there was another phone I could have earned.
Your battery life slowly faded
And now you just will not stay on.
At least you lasted me for this long
I guess the long fade out’s all gone.

The Long Fade Out

They say it's better to burn out than fade away
But does anybody wonder what the hell is goin on
If all them were here today?
They say don't meet your heroes, they'll let you down
I don't wanna see your dinner when I'm logging onto twitter
no it don't seem that profound
Don't do the long fade out
Don't do the long fade out
They say there comes a time to quit while you're ahead
But no, you had to go and sell out harder than Metallica
And show your age instead
They say to live fast! Die young! Leave a pretty corpse
Or better you could never ever step into the studio
Just don't press record
Don't do the long fade out
Don't do the long fade out
Don't do it!!
