So glad to finally be done. It's been a long 8 weeks! Cheers to the judges and all the contestants, and to Pete, who I'm sure will be a very worthy competitor in the finals.

Balance Lost - love the arpeggios. That intro is killer. And the part in between the verses is great too. Vocals sound good, i find this lyrical topic interesting - it’s on the face a bad relationship, but the narrator can still see the good in it? At first i was a little put off by the cadence, but it grew on me throughout the song. Ending is excellent.

Moss Palace - Real nice intro here too. Love the synth there. The synths. Yes. i like your chorus better. Vocals sound real good. There’s a little bit of muffly character to this mix… maybe it could be brighter. This would be fun to remix. But i love those synths. Did i mention the synths?

Brown Word and the Big Whine - that sound in the beginning is cool. I want more of that. Delusions of morality is good. Is that from something? Alien? The detonation sounds like that. Anyway. I like “i’m humaning the best i can” too.

Spintown & Company - oh yeah i hear the warrant. “Been got” is a little awkward. I find some of the rhymes here to be a little pat. But clipped/ill-equipped is cool. I dig the solo. What’s a rotating prayer? Vocals are definitely in style. Fun one.

Now as for final rankings. I have not been sharing them but i will here. I really liked both of the finalist songs, but i feel like moss palace wins out by half a point. Great work both of you.

Thanks once again for the review. Well, this song is about me playing Bed Wars. I use a punch bow as my main weapon & a lot of the song is someone trying to counter it in various ways with different items. Hypixel Network introduced rotating items to the game a couple years ago. So each week there are 2 new items you can buy in the in game shop. Rotating prayer is referencing that. Someone running out of ideas, so they check the rotational items hoping it's something that'll help them.

Congratulations Moss Palace!
well played.

I can't lie, it's disappointing to come so close, but hey at least this way I don't have to judge next year! :)

Also wanted to say a special thanks to Heuristics for being the only judge to post reviews every round, even after taking a few lumps from grumpy contestants. Thanks Bill!

Awesome job Moss Palace! And Balance Lost! It was a tossup for me, I had to listen a couple times.

Thanks to Niveous and the judges, all the players, folks who reviewed or otherwise participated, Tommy hosting the listening parties, it's been really fun. Heard a lot of great work.

I'll say it was wise to end before the 4th, getting noisy around here. Be safe everyone! Tschuss bis spater!

You're welcome! Even as some of the grumpy contestants :)
I figure I need to write them anyway so I can do tie-breakers after the initial ratings... so I might as well post my thoughts.
