Re: Watch out for the (Stinger prefight)
Am I first?
I've done an odd song. With lots of first takes on guitars, bass and (not quite in tune) piano. Even the words were improvised.
After all there is a tiny bit of Velvet Underground in it - but it is more a pastiche (but even a tribute) to a British band called Dry Cleaning.
Does anybody know Dry Cleaning? The cover art of the Stumpwork LP made me buy this album. It made me laugh so hard (and still does).

Everything about it is very artful. But it would be much nicer to listen to when the singer would sing every now and then (and not just recite)...

I'm in as well. I chose to record my song rather than just grab the live performance. And I sent it in so I wouldn't be tinkering with the arrangement when I have other things to do. (Off to Nashville tomorrow night after being gone the last week or so.)

I really want to record a studio version of this but my hands aren't working right. fuck chronic pain so much
I'd just submit the livefight version but I'm also exceedingly unhappy with how it turned out

Re: Watch out for the (Stinger prefight)
I'm so sorry, fluffy. that blows. *very gentle hugs if you want them*
we are submitting our live fight version because the only other one we have is the "demo" we made in Spud's basement after rehearsing, which is very inferior as Nivs was playing Spud's grandfather's acoustic guitar with no amplification, and the phone was placed somewhat near Omni. But also I genuinely think we performed it better in the live fight. There are some infelicities of frequencies that can't be helped (i.e. clipping), but it's fine!

I smoked a bunch of weed and managed to get something recorded that I'm not totally frustrated by. Whee.

Trifecta is late but the song is submitted -- we don't get together in the same city often but this time it worked out well with the challenge and Song Fight Live.
