Lyrics go here: viewtopic.php?t=12984Gunfire ricochet off my halo
My head is buzzin' like a hive of bees
The truth is certain, I gotta start livin'
I've been down for all to see, yeah
All my dreams creepin' up on me
The whole world is my destiny
Sweet lord, set us all free
Only one future I see, yeah
Full tilt
I'm finally hit, yeah-yeah
Full tilt
Ooh, I'm in love with that shit, baby
My vertigo is on (Full Tilt reviews)

I think this contains a fair bit of sampling of other pre-made stuff that is being sung over – which makes it tougher to review for me, with my limited experience at those things you are good at. However, I like the way you put this all together. It definitely has a strong and clear perspective lyrically and there are some good rhymes here. Never heard anyone use “gird” or “loins” in hip-hop and I got a kick out of that. I love the timbre of your voice. Is it doubled? I can tell you are following your passion in this one.
Paco Del Stinko
Another "state of the States" themer. This one has awesome guitar tones and the playing is great. I think I wanted the vocal melody to weave around the chords in a more interesting way. The quiet breakdown section around the 2-min mark works really well. You created the verbal mood – frustration, with a hint of spite for those doing the wrongs – and you held it throughout. Lyrics were good too.
R. Mosquito
Interesting wall of sound really can’t be ignored. There is a lot of raw emotion in the vocal delivery and that’s a good thing, considering the subject matter. I feel the length of the song is right due to its persistence and gritty style. Appreciated more on second and third listen. Not sure it would be what you were going for, but I thought there was room for a short quiet breakdown that could give slight relief before you launch into your last chorus.
The Hell Yeahs
The traditional (slightly predictable) chord structure is gussied up by some really inventive guitar runs and magical little moments during transitions from section to section. I think maybe some call and answer or other harmonies might improve the verses, which were my favorite part. I wished for another instrument or two to join in during the chorus to really make it go harder/better. I did hear some harmony vocals there. Drums are well done – dynamics heard and appreciated. Good job.
The Mellfire Trifecta
WILL investigate why I keep submitting quiet mixes (even though it looks like I am barely keeping the track from clipping during the render) before next time. Lyrics came first this time and the rest fit together. No time to add bass but it seemed to work without.

Paco!!
You've taken more of a... Saint Vitus vibe on this one and I'm 100% loving it! It's crazy how sometimes I click on a Paco track thinking I know what I'm going to get and then I get something even better. You are a legend.
Hell Yeahs!
Clearly the catchiest thing that's out there this week, keepin' it fresh with the change-ups. All the lyrics are super clever and well put together, as well. You are also legends!
Melly Mellfire, et. al.
I don't know if "they just want to drink our milkshake" is a popular idiom with which I am unfamiliar, but I'm going to try dropping it into political conversations. Mix loudness: It's actually not that quiet... you only need to come up a little -- "correct" loudness is generally considered -13dbu, yours is like -15. Just slap a limiter on the end of your chain and you good.

Dope beats and salty words! Man, I didn't see two entries with Orwell references coming out of this title but here we are.

Re: My vertigo is on (Full Tilt reviews)
Just for the record, the DJ scratching is all sampled, the dirty record sound effect throughout is a sample, and the cigarette being lit at the beginning is a sample, but the music itself was all done by me in GarageBand. I built the bass loop on GB's default upright bass. I sequenced a drum loop meant to sound like an early 90s posse sampling an old jazz record, then let one of GB's virtual drummers fill in on the verses. The riff that becomes the hook is just a quick lick played on "Classic Funk Lead" and then doubled on "Brass Ensemble."
And yes, the vocals are doubled. I recorded the whole thing three times and picked the best two takes for each stanza, and I did a little manual editing to tighten up the syllable matching.

Re: My vertigo is on (Full Tilt reviews)
Decent crop thought they'd be more barreling down the hi-way in attitude, Reve went (mostly) there. I know I couldn't pull off what I first heard, so yeah. Top three get votes.
Dr Proximo - Old school-ish, good way/thing. The lyrics are good, flow well, lean into the more general meaning of full tilt. Kind of cool and laidback for the message? Dunno, doesn't have to bite your face off. Dig the direction all around.
The Hell Yeahs - Fun. Rockin' more melodic Waitresses vocal and the crunchy rockitude of the makes it seem so easy Phil-bombinous. Catchy and sticks in the coconut. Blast, man! Always a delight, this doesn't disappoint. Everything sounds great too.
The Melfire Trifecta - Early 70s, I'm in. I like the chorus better the second time it comes around, sandwiched. Chords almost seem weird then don't, different angle. Lyrics carry a good message, seem like different topics but I'm...yeah
Paco del Stinko - Undercooked, fer sure, but I kinds like the loping wobble rhythm. Failed to get a more aggressive Theremin sound, but two amps with different delays on them. Eh.
R. Mosquito - Great drive, makes you want to go. Just enough hook in both the synth lines and vocals. Bridge feels a little samey until right before it ends. But I totally dig how this plows in and takes you away. Still short of being violent, though. Which is probably good, ya' know?

Guitar tones: Don't be afraid of your tone and volume knobs on your electric guit-fiddles. They are your friends and do not fear being used at less than than TEN. Don't be afraid to use amps despite the convenience of sims. Air and glass like you and make you pay more attention, breathe.
Bringin' the stink since 2006.
