RIP Steven Tyler

This is a few weeks old now, but what's really funny is all the hate mail that the Weekly Dig has been getting from Aerosmith fans and Schiavo fanatics. Unfortunately I couldn't find the letters on the site so you'll have to take my word for it.
Let cake eat them.

Oh man this scared me. I've got a show in a few hours, and when I saw this I thought, 'Oh shit, here comes a full night of Aerosmith requests'.
I'm off the hook, for a while anyway.

Seriously, that one song on Get Your Wings, Season(s?) of Wither, I remember as being pretty cool.

That's just crazy talk. Yes, Aerosmith has had their share of horrible pop trash ("Pink" is the first thing that comes to mind) but they've also had their share of real good tunes that are just fun to rock out to. Plus, they're a great live band. And they seem like a pretty decent bunch of guys (expect for Brad Whitford, who seemed like a smug bastard when I got the band's autograph).

personal preference, i guess. the only reason i even like that one song is because when i was younger i thought it was led zeppelin.

While people are here mourning a fake death, I'm just going to take a moment to post about a real one. Completely not music related but a death is a death and most people here won't know or give a damn who he was but his passing means something to me. He died too soon. He had succeeded after a long struggle. with drug addiction and was getting his life back together. His career was making a big comeback and now he's gone because of something as small as a bloodclot. He was a great athlete and entertainer.

Requiescat in pace. I'm sure he's up in heaven right now, all oiled up, half-naked in spandex, grabbing some muscular man's bottom as part of a staged competition...

(Sorry, had to.)
