Man, you too fast. Probably cause you didn't have to tune your guitar and sober up your drummer this time. I don't know if I'm gonna make it - had a few too many things to do this week. I've got half a song (which I'm half happy with) and a bunch of very mediocre lyrics. Can't wait to hear it, Mostess.

I'm working on one for Lucas this week. I'm planning on working on it all weekend, so maybe it'll actually get finished. But fear not! I'm going nerdcore, so your competition will be stiff like a rubber band.

If I can get it uploaded, I'm in for Don't Break My Heart Again, George Lucas. Giving this one my Chris Cornell impression, for no good reason.

Sent in my "Brand New Car," which is interesting because I had some wicked lyrics for "Scissor Kick" but I was suddenly moved to make some weirdass keyboard-driven song using a sample of Dane Cook and using a Disneyland ticket scraped across my laptop mic for percussion. It's short.

Sadly I must bow out this week, despite an awesomely half-baked Brand New Car. Oprah would have been proud. Then sued. Darn.

The Jet Eye* will be making it's Songfight! debut this week in "Don't Break My Heart Again, George Lucas", complete with Darth Maul introduction. Don't forget to use the force.

and props to Pavlov's Dawg for bringing the last minute flow.

*ok. not really. but it's a new name anyways.

Much better name than Luco Brazzi, who I heard is sleeping with the fishes anyway.

The Oprah angle is very clever. Has anyone seen the SNL sketch where Oprah starts giving away things and the audience goes into a frenzy, eventually having their heads explode?

Anyway, I might have to bow out of Brand New Car as well if I don't finish. We'll see how it goes.

I wrote a "Brand New Car" but didn't have much time this week so it's going in as a GnG, athough I originally conceived it as a modern country, fully fleshed-out thing.

Looks like everyone's having a rough week. Me too. Spent the latter part of the week deliberating over Scissor Kick. Dumped it at the last minute and did a quickie Brand New Car. Haste makes waste. Ugh...

I had some neat ideas for cover art for Chocolate and Strawberry, but I just don't have time to put them together this week. Boohoo. I'll try to get an early start on next week's songs.

Although this community is "Song Fight," not "Art Fight," I think it'd be kind of neat to let people vote on art choices each week as well as songs, with the winning artwork getting into the archives.

it's funny because yesterday i swear i was thinking "scissor kick" was such a redmonesque sort of title. i'm a bit surprised at the choice, yet the anticipation is not one less bit diminished. :)

Cashpoint = scissor kick, with some remarkably unfunky post-punk-funk.

Yeah, when the titles went up, I really liked Scissor Kick, but Phil had a great idea for Brand New Car lyrics that work so well with previous Hell Yeahs songs, so it seemed the obvious choice. Big fight, shmig fight, I don't think you'll be dissappointed Jack.
