High Enough by The Masters of Grip
I first knew you when you were right at the bottom
I saw past all the memories you’d not forgotten
And I helped your self see yourself from a brand new perspective
Now all that’s left are thoughts of your cruel invective
Chorus
You kept on rising up, till you were high enough
High enough to look down on me
You could not help yourself, with all the fame and wealth
Living in that high society
When they first knew you, you were bright like a button
Then times got tough, the shine rubbed off and left you open
The problems came, no one to blame for your indiscretion
Your fall from grace, the hole in your face is your confession
Chorus
When you think you above some people, you’re below even more
A never-ending ladder of players and whores
Chorus
Fragments of chorus to fade
High Enough

High Enough
by WreckdoM
I looked deep into the deepest
Blue of the sky and it
Pierced my eye and it
Made me Crazy
I felt the greenie grass crawl
Up my bare ass and I
Enjoyed the ants and they
Politely asked me
Are you finally High Enough?
Am I finally High Enough?
Are you asking what
You are asking what
Are you asking?
What is the question?
I looked into the
Oil and paint and the
Pictures were moving and it
Was entrancing
The stage hands pulled away
The whole façade and it
Showed the truth and it
Left me asking
Am I finally High Enough?
Are you finally High Enough?
Are we seeing what
Are we seeing what
Are we feeling
That we all have asked for?
Are we finally High Enough?
Are we finally High Enough?
Are we finally High Enough?
Are we finally High Enough?

High Enough by Rik Gerblick
It's a fall I remember well
Pushed you away, it was the only answer
At the time, though you couldn't see
I was only trying to save you from me
Days since have been cold as hell
Nothing I do ever seems to matter
Think of you now, and try to pretend
I didn't run, it didn't end
Bridge
You've built a pedestal, higher than I'll reach
Climbed up where you belong
Have you ever looked down on me
Chorus
I can't get high enough to stand by you now
I try to reach you, but I always fall back down
There's not enough in me
To reach that high, to ever be
I only have my self to blame and the choices
The choices I have made
Years fade into another life
Time has no mercy on the stupid
So long ago, I know I was right
I took the fall, you touched the sky
Chorus x2

High Enough - deshead
We talked about the reasons for the way things are
and the way they oughta be.
But there's nothing changed about you,
nothing's there without you.
The rules are all for me.
When you tear me down, no better way to pick you up.
When you tear me down what have you done?
I'm just the tune.
I should have run when I saw you coming
with your empty talk of nothing
that somehow filled the room.
If you wanna take my will, some night you're gonna get it all
and if you take my will, then why go on?
I see it now, the world won't take you alone.
I see it now, you're only up when you've got me down,
and still you're never high enough.
We talked about the reasons for the way things are
and the way they oughta be.
But there's nothing changed about you,
nothing's there without you.
The rules are all for me.
When you tear me down, no better way to pick you up.
When you tear me down what have you done?
- You'll always be the highest one.
You've been standing over me so long.
You'll always be the highest one.
Still you're never high enough,
you're never high enough.
I'm just the tune.
I should have run when I saw you coming
with your empty talk of nothing
that somehow filled the room.
If you wanna take my will, some night you're gonna get it all
and if you take my will, then why go on?

and still you're never high enough.

HIGH ENOUGH / King Arthur
I'm not so paranoid
That I believe you're out to get me
And I'm willing to accept
That your intentions are the best;
As pure as driven snow,
Or pure cane sugar,
Or whatever metaphor
You choose to use
To put my mind at rest.
You don't / mean to be / mean to me /
My lips / say yes but / my heart /
Is not impressed.
My psychiatrist explained
That I have "criticism issues,"
Which most likely can be traced back
To childhood pressures to excell,
And they cause me to misinterpret
The most innocent of remarks,
And think them personal attacks
Which then drive me
Right back in my shell.
You don't / mean to be / mean to me /
My lips / say yes but / my heart /
Is not impressed.
My highs aren't high enough,
My lows aren't high enough,
My normal isn't high enough,
It's a "me" thing...
And so I'm sorry
That I've spoiled another evening
And I'm sorry I'm not getting
Any better any faster than I am.
And I'm sorry that you have to
Hear me saying that I'm sorry;
I know how it annoys you
That I'm not a better man.
You don't / mean to be / mean to me /
My lips / say yes but / my heart /
Is not impressed.
