Well, these are certainly hot, romantic titles. Crank up the disco drum machine!

You can't really go wrong with that, can you?

I am absolutely sure I will be in 'Policy of Rape' - the challenge of doing justice to such a difficult title is too intruiging to shy away from ... so it will either be the best thing I have ever done, or truly truly awful. Perhaps both at the same time. Either way I apologise now for any potential offence that it might cause (I haven't written it yet I am just sure that whatever anyone does with that title it's gonna offend someone).

I'm just looking forward to see Eight Legged Oedipus' (and/or alias') interpretation of the title.

If you are intellegent about it, it can be informative rather than offensive (hint - all three titles are related to current events. Please bother to look into it)

Dear Roymond

Thank you for your post dated 7th June, 2005. I have, of course, checked the current affairs to which these titles relate. I was simply saying that there are certain words that cause people's heckles to rise, merely by their prescence. You understimate me and, to an extent, yourself, by replying as you have.

See? the offence-taking has started already.

Yours sincerely

One is tempted to reply, 'then you already have.' But I'll wait to hear it.

How many are going to just be lazy and do "Janjaweed" as a celebration for pot? The Reefer? The Jazz Cigarrettes?

Those people will look very very foolish if they mistake "Janja" for "Ganja".

But then I imagine these fights are going to be somewhat of an enlightening look at the zeitgeist through the filter of song fight. So who knows what we'll get.

Ah. Thanks for the final push toward getting me to google that word. I'd suspected what the unifying topic was, and, well, damn. Guess the j'unk rock gets to be topical this week, if it happens at all. Thought provoking, D.T.

I have my history final on Friday. Most of the multiple choice is on various acts of violence in Africa. I know pleeeeenty abot the Janjaweed so I could do a real depressing song about violence and world peace and all that jazz. But that would be kinda boring.

All these sound good. I have something in the works for "What's in it for me" but it came from such a black and ugly place, I may scrap it. Plus it's been a while since I've done a song about rape. And Janjaweed sounds like an interesting idea to play on. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janjaweed
