Stream ALL?
I'm not very good at these computer things, but..
Does anybody have, or will anybody be willing to make, a stream with every SongFight entry ever? What I'd really like to be able to do is play every song on here on shuffle.
If this is at all possible, if even plausible; somebody should really get on that. If there's some super easy way to do this; can somebody let me know?
If something like this exists, I'd appreciate some linkage,

SongFight! Radio used to be hosted by Blue on http://www.songhole.org, if I recall correctly. It's been defunct for a while, at least since songhole.org changed hands from Blue to Spud.
Maybe what we could do now is try to customize the open source iRate mp3 streaming/rating system? If you haven't tried it, it's an interesting little player that talks to a central database to get URLs of mp3s. The client then streams them from their original locations (no need to mirror the files that way). You get the option to store ratings for every URL on a central server. That would be an improvement over the old SF! Radio, since you'd be able to block songs you didn't like, etc. It'd be easy to hack the client to point to a server of our own choosing/creation, but the author doesn't yet make the server code available. He says running your own server is "not recommended" but people who want to do so can contact him about it. Also since the client is open source it would be possible to create a new server based on the communication code of the client.

If this sounds familiar, maybe you've heard of Indy (http://indy.tv/), which was conceptually based on iRate but isn't open-source. In fact I'm sure some of you have heard of Indy because I've heard some SongFight! music on there.

It was a very complicated algorithm, but here you go:Mogosagatai wrote:It'd be even cooler if there was a "Stream All the <i>Good</i> Ones".
