I had posted a thread complaining about how bad my day at work was, and then I saw this. Aforementioned thread has been deleted. You're awesome for putting this together for those boys. This world needs more people like you.

Sounds like Brian's condition may not be quite as bad as we previously thought. The infection is in his intestines, not his stomach. He does have another surgery today, and some skin grafts, but it sounds like he is not near death at all.

Very good news to wake up to today.

I will update this further as I have news, of course.

ROCK!

Jesus, Glenn.

Haven't been reading the boards in the last while, and I come back to find this thread. That is so tragic what happened, 4 year old kids. You're a saint for what you're doing to try and help, and although I'm a confirmed atheist, I'll pray to your choice of deity if you think it will help :)

Hope the kids get well soon.

Hey, two things:

1.) What's the latest news on Brian? Is he okay?

and less importantly...
2.) Who is going to be on the CD?

The newest report I have on Brian is that he has FINALLY been upgraded from critical condition to SERIOUS condition, which is an improvement. It took almost a month, but he is finally out of critical condition.

He just turned 5 years old a couple of days ago.

There was an infection in his intestines, and they were having a surgery for that, and some skin grafts. From what I heard, it sounded like the surgery was successful, but there are many more to go.

Regarding question #2, I can give you the track order, even!

1. Ellis Paul - "If You Break Down"
2. Roymond - "Rocket Through It"
3. Frankie Big Face - "Locked Box"
4. Kite - "Steer By The Stars"
5. Add - "Sticks and Stones"
6. Rachael Layne - "Presenting To You"
7. Vertigo Bliss - "Beautiful"
8. sonofsupercar - "Air Traffic"
9. Ken's Super Duper Band 'N Stuff - "Sounds Of Chrysler"
10. The Half Racks - "Thaw Me Out"
11. John Benjamin Band - "Coming Dear"
12. 1/2 - "Lose Your Connection"
13. Rick Podlas - "Ask Me Again Later"
14. Puce - "Fuzzy Logic"
15. 10 Minutes Down - "Waiting For Me"
16. Jupiter Effect - "553"
17. Krista Parrish - "Blue In The Sky (Remix)"
18. Black On Sunshine - "Moving On"

I have been listening to the mastered wavs on CD for the last few days, and I think we have a pretty good lineup.

And, yes, we got permission from Ellis Paul's record label (Rounder records) to have his song as part of this compilation!

ROCK!

Wow. Thanks to all the songfighters who helped. My mother one time had an extended hospital stay and I know how bad the bills can add up. Even the best insurance won't cover even close to everything.
Thank you to all you good human beings. Stuff like this helps remind me that not everyone is a fucking asshole now a days.

I totally agree. But just for the record...I'm not saying I'm not an asshole.

That was a very, very fun show.

All 4 bands sounded pretty dang good! I believe we had just over 100 people in attendance at the show, so we should have had at least $1,000 that we raised for Alex and Brian's bills.

I wish I had gotten some audio or video for y'all. Ken joined the Half Racks on stage for "Sounds of Chrysler", and wasn't I just surprised as hell to see SPUD at the ticket counter, purchasing tickets.

That's right! Spud, Amy, and Spudnut were in attendance at the Notes of Hope benefit! They're still here in Spokane for this afternoon, and we are hoping to get them involved in our super duper collab with Ken, Rachael, and the Half Racks... Maybe even to get Spud to play some bagpipes for the track... like he did on the stage at the Big Easy last night.

Some of the bad news... Our Benefit CD's did NOT arrive in time. We are going to have about 425 CDs to sell at this point, through online, and any other means that we can.

Furthermore: Spud and Ken's involvement in the whole Notes of Hope project has convinced me of one other thing. Rachael and I NEED to be in Boston however we can be.

So it's like this, folks. I am asking for your money in two seperate ways. Both involve CD's

ONE:

NOTES OF HOPE: A BENEFIT FOR ALEX AND BRIAN

$10 Details on how to purchase the CD are here

http://glenncase.songhole.org/notes

TWO:

AN ALBUM I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED CREATING YET

Rachael and I need to be in Boston for Songfight Live... That is all there is to it. If you would like to see us in Boston? We honestly could use your assistance. Please send paypal donations to:

ollyfan@yahoo.com

Please mention Boston in the notes area, so we know what the payment is for. I would normally never dream of asking more than say $7 for a CD of my material... I am going to ask for like $10 this time... and I will do what I can to make it worth your money.

Discs will be hand-crafted.. it won't be anything fancy in the artwork department or CD case department... Think "TDK CD with a label sticker on it, and some front and back artwork that were probably cut with scissors". We're working with an obvious budget here.

I am up for a collab or two on the disc as well. We will see how it progresses.

ROCK!

So I'm just now listening to the Notes of Hope CD, great stuff, especially the current track FBF "Locked Box." Yeah!
Anyway, so it reminds me to wonder - how are Brian and Alex?
