The Doors of Perception

Post by Rabid Garfunkel »

Dunno where this thread should be, so here it begins.

A funny thing happened last night, went down to my local bar of ill repute, and after hours asked to hear one of my (Primitive Screwheads) mixes on the sound system there. Then listened to some of my own (Rabid Garfunkel) songs, that performed... not so well... here in the reviews & voting, and they (bartender, regulars, a dancer... you know, thems who's left after the place shuts down) honestly seemed to enjoy what they were hearing.

And that was pretty cool.

That's all. Enjoy your weekend.

Abso-fucking-lutely.
I love playing live after the review's I get here. It's sooo relaxing!
Mind you, it's easy to trip and smack a heckler in the head with your accoustic... erm... Not.

Hey, funny thing I played my music to my mom and my grandma and guess what ..... :)

Seriously though, yes, the songfight boards are harsh. I'm glad they are, because they push you to improve yourself, but don't forget only 10% of the UK population has ever tried to be in a band (fig Observer last sunday) let alone commit to tape, so there's a huge bunch of people out there who aren't particularly biased in your favour but just want to enjoy well-made music you can reach ...

I think we've played in different places! I'll take the big girl's blouses on these boards any day over a pub full of drunk's who want to hear Cold Chisel covers!

Chortles and wonders who CR is thinking of. Writes long list (and then burns it just in case).

I don't play covers. I find it hard enough to play my own stuff... If you're going to make a complete tit of yourself, you might as well do it with your own music.
