Vocalist Needed!

Post by Cody »

I've been making music for a really long time now, and I've finally gave up any aspirations of me singing. I try...and can't. I freeze in front of the mic and it generally sounds horrible. Anyway, I've been browsing around the site, and I've found some DAMN good singers. I would like some help putting some lyrics to these songs listed below. (I have the lyrics.) Thanks dudes!

Not sure what style of singer you're looking for, but I'd be willing to take a shot at some of these...

Awesome, everyone can give it a shot if you guys want. I'll post the lyrics here now. And you can do with them as you wish. I'm excited to hear some! (The lyrics are posted in the order of the songs above.)

When The Sun Comes Out.

It sets a steady pace
The mild one has timid virtues
I tried for so long to be one of you
To be used, and abused, tarnished, intoxicated

The optimistic one is pessimist today
Touch, burn and let go of that dark memory
Once it's gone, it's not in tact
Karma has a way of paying you back

Instant gratitude and former accident
In the back seat, concieved evident
The mind seems fickle and washed
Bathe me in, drain me out
I don't want to reach the sky.
For the sake of conversation
Die the muse of deconstruction
Photograph the imagery
A million times that couldn't be
Fight the nation of corruption
The better the misconception
Bathe me in, drain me out
I don't want to wonder why

I can hear the water from across the room
The news is blaring of inpending doom
The right is selective, and that's the biggest lie
It's their rights, so who are we
To be their eyes when they can see

Instant gratitude and former accident
In the back seat, concieved evident
The mind seems fickle and washed
Bathe me in, drain me out

Die the muse of deconstruction
Photograph the imagery
A million times that couldn't be
Fight the nation of corruption
The better the misconception
Bathe me in, drain me out
I don't want to wonder why

Fight the nation of corruption
I don't want to wonder why
x2

It sets a steady pace
The modest one catches it first

------------------------

Embolism.

Who am I?
Who are you?
Would you like to stay a while?

Soon enough when dawn will come
And it's bright enough to see my smile
You'll realize you're the only one
You'll realize you're the only one

Blood that drips along my eyes
Can't help but feel the feeling's dying
Or the feelings already dead

Who am I?
Who are you?
Would you like to stay a while?
(x2)

Lost my ambition, lost all hopes and dreams
Cannot see around me, conscience sinking in
Who are you?
Who am I?
Would you like to stay a while?
(on the techno-ish part, a whisper)

Now it feels to the touch as it does to the dream
And it hurts to the hero as it does to the fiend
Now it fails like it falls as it's destined to be
And it implodes like the structure
...that once surrounded me

----------------------

Fluid.

Circus
Invaded
Every right I had to breathe
Everything taken from me

I can pretend to vanish
Constant noose around my neck
Look for answers and get neglected
If I'm infected then so are you
then so are you, then so are you

Circus
Invaded
Every right I had to breathe
Everything taken from me
Replace
A moment
I would kill for the state
To dialate and evacuate

I can pretend to fly above
Higher than the pictures low
But my wings would burn and I wouldn't know
Crashing down to the thoughts below
Underneath the burning glow
Underneath this
I can't fake this

Circus
Invaded
Every right I had to breathe
Everything taken from me
Replace
A moment
I would kill for the state
To dialate and evacuate

I can pretend to fly above
Higher than the pictures low
But my wings would burn and I wouldn't know
Crashing down to the thoughts below
Underneath the burning glow

-------------------

Song To Fuck Yourself To.

Every time it seems that I try to live the moment, it passes me by
A vacant hole, where is the space that satisfied me yesterday

The world's a hole, an opening, an opening, a resevoir
The world's a hole, an opening, an opening, to fuck yourself to
The world's a hole, an opening, an opening, a resevoir
The world's a hole, an opening, an opening, to fuck yourself to

Time for change, every moment is, but what is the moment if it doesn't exist
And instead of the space, we are the air, someone has to know
But don't look at me.
I'm just part of this gap, this generation, this meditation turns to mutilation
self-sacrifice, my only vice is that when I play, I can't play nice

Every time it seems that I try to live the moment, it passes me by
A vacant hole, where is the space that satisfied me yesterday
Every time it seems that I try to live the moment, it passes me by
A vacant hole, where is the space that satisfied me yesterday

The world's a hole, an opening, an opening, a resevoir
The world's a hole, an opening, an opening, to fuck yourself to
The world's a hole, an opening, an opening, a resevoir
The world's a hole, an opening, an opening, to fuck yourself to

Grace has came and left this dump, took one look and smelled the fish
Killed the bliss, everything that we know is suddenly stopping
The guns are needed? The soil's bleeding? I think it's time we did the retreating.
Give this one last try

-------------------------

Counting My Age.

Don't know what I'm counting, but I'm fainting my age, all the times that I've counted, I've counted on rage
Hoping to bloom on the page, like a rat in a cage, Counting on my, counting on my age
Don't know what I'm counting, but I'm fainting my age, all the times that I've counted, I've counted on rage
Hoping to bloom on the page, like a rat in a cage, Counting on my, counting on my age

My thoughts inside are rotting, all the trust I kept in me
Lied to myself, and the secrets I couldn't keep
I see the sun shine as I wake
I forget...Am I alive?
Or just forgetting
And I rest my head in vein
I ache, I writhe in pain
There's good in everyone
And I hate it, I just can't fake it
There's good in everyone else

---------------------

Act So Well, It Sell.

How old do you have to be before it's a tragedy
Before you can just die
And no questions will be asked
How long does it take for a genocide
To sway a cultured suicide
Does the criticism make it right?
How far can you fly before feeling the burn
Then vanishing from the cascading sun
How long is it remembered?

By glowing moonlight and radiating truth
Through the window behind open doors
Under the blankets, wrinkled and scattered
Breathing echoes through, melodic and soothing
It's too dark to see, but too light to blind
Shadow of myself, cast to your wall
For too long, I've stood in your slumber
As I kiss your forehead and tell you goodnight

Does the light shine on my eyes like it does on you?
Does the wind at night remind you of familiar times?
When the sun sets, do you ever feel that you can't
Keep your eyes off of the person it's shining on?
Early in the morning, do you wake like I do?
Do you hear my slumber as I hear yours?
Without a pulse of heart that doesn't tick
With the rhythm heard only in our dreams?

When I am gone, do you get lonely as I do?
Does your mind stay in place yet your soul leaves?

When you saw me at first, did you lose your breath?
Was there a moment when nothing else was there?
But a white vacancy and only air between us
Because I did, and every day feel it again.
Do you look at the future as much as the past?
And see our children growing old as we do together?
Do you care if our home is a box or a mansion?
Because I don't, as long as I'm with you.

I'll make sure to give credit to everyone that does one and again, I thank you for giving this a shot!

Erm... that would be a no I'm afraid. I tried, but I couldn't get any of the lyrics to fit the tracks... Well not in a way I'd want anybody to hear. Sorry. A low fi version with a guide vocal would really help.

Same here... I looked at a couple of the songs, and couldn't figure out how all those words are supposed to fit in the amount of music that's there. Are these really written to fit together???

Since these sound like they're entirely MIDI tracks, would you be able to upload the .mid files somewhere so that we could expand / alter them to fit with the lyrics? Or are we just not trying hard enough???

Keep in mind also that you only posted this stuff about three days ago, and even for those of us with lots of time to work on music, this stuff will presumably take a back seat to working on new songfight songs, etc.

Actually, they aren't .mid files, and you guys can feel free to altar the lyrics and cut things out. A lot of the lyrics are fast paced.

I've got a kinda thing for Embolism. Where should I send it? Just PM you on the boards? I saved the vocal track as an mp3, and then I saved the music + vocals as an mp3. Is that okay?
