Will Anybody Actually Buy This?

Links and other hanky panky that doesn't have to do with anything in particular.

Sadly, yes.

It's pretty lame that he and his publicist consider this newsworthy. Oh, you wrote a new song Jacko? Man, good for you. That's quite an accomplishment, given that you're a FREAKIN' MUSICIAN!!

So is he looking for a pat on the back? Or just trying to drum up some positive publicity? Either way, lame ...

Thanks for the heads up on this!

I am working the morning news show for the next couple of weeks, and I was asked to crack a mic and speak about this story on the air! I have audio, even! (Can't upload at the moment, but it was way cool.)

ROCK!

I think he's looking to get people to donate money to Katrina. All proceeds from the sale of the record will be donated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The only thing lame about that is the lack of specificity as to exactly which organization will be getting the money.

We Are the World is a kick ass track, and if this song is as good as that, it would be great. MJ is famous all over the world, even if he is villified here. A charity single from him could raise a ton of money.

...that and the fact that he's offing Neverland as a refuge for displaced 10-year-old boys

I guess I worded the thread title badly - I meant are people ready to 'forgive' - if they belive there is anything to forgive? Will having Jackson on board reduce its saleability? I presume not but it's interesting after the furore surrounding the trial - what three, four months ago? - to see how people respond to MJ's musical reappearance ...

I am not suggesting that Jackson is looking to ride Katrina back into the public eye (wrong sex, for a start :) ) and I believe his motives are pure.

As pure as the driven slush. It's not Jackson, it's his Management / Lawyers / Accountants etc trying desperately to save their sinking superstar and re-coup MONEY.

It's only the profit from the sales that will go to the victims of Katrina, and there are lots of ways to hide oodles of that.
