In for "Life's Been Good."

I have neither a limo nor a Maserati, but hey, screw it.

EDIT: No, I'm not, because that's not an Eagles song. Duuuuuuuhhhhh...

Eagles songs that are actually Jackson Browne covers shouldn't count, that's all I'm sayin'.

<b>Bjam</b> even though I knew what the thread meant..I too immediately thought of Philadelphia...and uh..a corner back / free safety

Take it Easy is the Jackson Brown cover if anyone was wondering what the heck he was talking about. My dad is a huge Jackson Browne fan and can't stop reminding me that its really one of his songs.

Life's Been Good is a Joe Walsh solo career song. Not and Eagles one.

I thought "Desperado" was a Jackson Browne song, too. I could be wrong.

Oops... you would appear to be correct. First I found it in stuey's list, then found it in a set of "Eagles Lyrics." <insert ASS-U-ME quote here>

Shows you what a huge Eagles fan *I* am. BTW, they're playing in my city on Friday.

Put me down for Lyin' Eyes instead.

Absolutely.....Your thread/your rules. I will adjust the list as soon as I can do a songwriter check on everything that's there. As Albatross said, I just did a copy of a list of titles on some of their major albums, never thought to check back to credits.

Nope!!.. the w-iki entries I found have this credited to Frey/Henley and I can't find an original recording by Jackson Browne on his albums so Jim is good to go on this track. Working my way through the list.

Oh, how embarassing (or maybe not) - I find that I do not have a copy of 'Take It to The Limit' any more. Does anyone have a copy they could mp3-ise for me, for my reference? I can only remember the chorus at the moment.

Of course it may be more embarrassing for you to admit that you have a copy than for me to admit I don't - a pm would do!

PHEW!!!! (see posting bottom of page 1).

Okay I have changed the list to reflect the studio albums of the Eagles, and highlighted the songwriter credits of band members and indicated which songs not written by Eagles band members were original (first commercial) release thereby NOT making them covers. By my reckoning that makes the only not valid song in the list to be Ol' 55 by Tom Waits.

That said...Luke, "New York Minute" was released by Don Henley on his solo album "End of the Innoncece" (1989) before being relased on "Hell Freezes Over" (1994). Technically that makes it ineligible (kinda sorta maybe) :D

However it's your idea Luke so if there is any changes you want to see made to the list please just shout.

J$ I will go look now for the mp3 version of "Take it to the Limit"

Thanks! That'd be great ... I was checking out some on-line tabs (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/eagles_tabs.htm seems good) but the version they have doesn't seem to bear much resemblance to the song I remember :)

Sorry J$ seems someone "permanently" borrowed my Eagles Greatest Hits CD so I will be visiting Amazon music store later for a new purchase. If you don't get it before I will be happy to send.

I kinda always wanted to do this song myself. I actually know some of it on guitar already. I don't really plan on entering so go right ahead by all means...I'm only mentioning it because I like to see my own type. Rather, GOOD CHOICE!

That was me. I stole the CD and sacrificed it to the Muzic Godz to teach me how to play guitar. It didn't work. That shows you how good the Eagles are.

Oh you wacky teenagers and your love of zees. Clearly the spelling Gods are still awaiting a sacrifice of a book or two from you. With 4 copies of Half Blood Prince in the house you should be in good shape though!! ;-)

The cool kids rejected the concept of deadlines because they're so dead. They only like hotlines.

This is, of course, a lie since the cool kids would never have let me know about that change. I don't think there's a set due date yet.

PS- try to not make it due at the same time as Theme Song Fight because I want to do a proper job for the other artists involved.

Roymond/c hack (possibly Weasel Slayer pending decision on New York Minute eligibility).

See my post bottom of Page 1 for ideas.

I agree couple of weeks difference between themefight and this would be good. How about end November (30th?). Luke??
