Who wants to cover the Eagles?

Discuss the many little competitions/projects that spring up amongst the Song Fight community.

Yeah I was kind of wondering what happened to that as well. Last I remember Hans Grueber, the organizer of the fight, had something blocking his schedule and tried I guess unsuccessfully to hand it off to someone else. From there I think it just died. Did you ever work on that "Tom Sawyer" cover Leaf? Hell you ought to just for fun.

I intend to treat my selected Eagles song with the respect it deserves.

I have yet to select a song.

I will do so... sometime... this week.

I must admit, I am more familiar with the reputation that the Eagles have rather than their music.

I'm not sure how these side fights work, but I'd be into kicking a version of Take It Easy. With my friends, the Beresfordians as guests, of course.

Hey Kids - Deepest apologies for letting the progfight slide. However, this is certainly in a similar vein. Anywho, I'm (hopefully) halfway through jury duty...and cutting down to part-time at work, as it has turned into an all-consuming monster. Also wrapping up a few freelance projects and talking to new clients. I hope to have a completed King Crimson song by the end of the year, if I ever have time to play again. :x Maybe I'll put on my cheerleader costume and rally you all back to Xanadu in 2006.

Best wishes, I'll be checking in when I get the chance. Rock the Henley!

PS. I don't understand why Joe Walsh still plays with these clowns. He's so much better than the rest...did he blow his fortune up his nose, and needs the money? Seriously, the James Gang was so much cooler... 8)

Cover the Eagles? As in, with a non-porous plastic bag so as to induce asphyxiation? sure!

Well if I were gonna do this I'd call "Bitter Creek" or "Outlaw Man". They stab it with their Steely Dan but they just can't afford to be Eagles' fans...

I think I'm gonna try to do a true-to-the original version of the song. Unless in the middle of it I realize it totally sucks, and then I might go the opposite way and totally screw with it. :)

I'd like to see your nice little discography worked into that initial post as well (and have the claimed songs underlined and labeled with the claimers).

Wowww, thanks stueym for taking my idea and making it, like, legit. I think this is going to be great. Hopefully the Eagles will get the come-uppance they deserve (or respect... who knows).

StewyM/Luke: I have webspace sufficient for hosting anyone's songs who need it, and the page that'll house all the links and whatever else needs to be on it. Whenever people are finished and wish to get their songs to me, just send me a pm and I'll supply ftp info for just that.
