Lyrics were long overdue

Links and other hanky panky that doesn't have to do with anything in particular.

Lyrics were long overdue

Post by GlennCase »

Came up with an idea tonight, and Spud helped me bring it to life. Thanks, Spud!

As Add said once "The guy writes a lot of songs". I thought that a lyrics area of my website was LONG overdue, but I wanted it to look cool.

Thanks to Spud, I think it kinda does. I chose my "Keeping the Doctor Away" album as a test for the layout. Here is what I have:

What do ya think? Any advice on how it should be tweaked? Does it look like ass in your browser of choice?

I am going to work on getting a LOT more lyrics up soon. I personally love how the layout looks.

ROCK!

The layout really works.

Nice one.

Glenn, when you reduce the page size in width (that is when *I* do), the two long lines at the bottom wrap funny - back to the edge of the page instead of the red line, due to the spacer thing. I warned you that was cheating. If you haven't solved it by the time I get back from LA, I will show you a better way to cheat so that doesn't happen.

Yeah this is good, i like it. It would be great to have a handwriting font in there, but short of scanning the text and having them as pictures, I don't know a way to get round the 'not every computer has the same font' problem - no-one wants to be prompted to download a new font just to view the page ...

Good good good

that's cool. in my mozilla there's this big empty space to the left of the album cover and above the words... is this on purpose? just fyi my browser windows are maximized.
let's get the rest of them up there! :)

I doubt I will be able to figure it out, as I am a html novice at best. So I will appreciate the assistance when you have time (and are back home).

In the meantime, for those who are interested in this, it is coming together very nicely.

Still adding to it.

Looks very nice. My only suggestion is maybe to use a perforated spiral notebook. Makes removing the bad songs easy, but you don't really have that problem. And if you can stop the tiling it would make it more real.
