Band Concepts

Post by Lunkhead »

For some reason I really like to come up with band concepts, and the stupider they are, the better. Here are two recent ones:

Conceptual Darkness - an "Intelligent Death Metal" (IDM) band

The A Cappella Belladonnas - a "The Donnas" cover band consisting of four impersonators of Joey Belladonna, former singer for "Anthrax"

Got any others?

The Fleming Lips: A band who writes Flaming Lips parodies about James Bond.

Jimmu Borgir: Hendrix meets death metal. Actually, I'd like to hear that.

"The Breakups": Gimmicky local punk band whose every show is billed as their last. Constant bickering between band members leads to at least one member sucker punching another member during every set, and the lead singer will storm off mid song at least once every show. Members are replaced, but then the replaced members show up at gigs and refuse to get off stage, and then more fights. Every band member has a girlfriend trying to yoko the band, except for the female bass player who has slept with all the other dudes in the band, but at different times. Audience member vs. band member fights would be expected at every show.

Basically, a band that stops fighting every so often to play a punk song.

Luke Henley - a solo act who's basically written 200 songs about unrequited love. Sometimes he plays the keyboard.

I've thought about making a concept album entitled, weapons of mass erection. The entire cd would be me banging different insturments and objects with my wang.
